1300 my dream or 1300 new home or Rigid Homes

Good Evening

I am only about a week away from signing a building contract with a company called 1300mydream, and was woundering if anyone has built or heard anything about them.

1300mydream were formally known as 1300newhome or Rigid homes. I have completed a search on ASIC and found that when they were known as 1300newhome, there company status indicates 'Strike off Action'.

Has anyone heard anything bad about them?

Any information would be extremely greatful

I may be a little critical in saying this, but a builder with a few name changes sounds a little dodge.
Have you enquired as to houses that they have built previously, may pay to visit one of the homes that they have built and speak to the owners.
Signing next week, are you excited?

I don't think your being critical, it's good to get honest feedback, because sometimes I thing you can get blinded by all the excitement.

I was feeling excited about signing the contract, until I did a search on the company last night.

I will definitely take your advice and check out there previous homes and hopefully speak to the owners.

Sorry to bring bad news, but our experience with this company was a nightmare. We have lodged a complaint with Consumer Affairs Victoria and believe that many others have too.
We have our house, thanks to the builder, a separate company, however due to the ******* contract etc, we are well out of pocket.
Have an independant party check your contract, don't allow yourself to be pressured into signing things, and make sure that you understand everything.......do you know who your builder is???
You could even try contacting consumer affairs and asking how the complaint is progressing......I wish you the very best of luck......
