Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Jun 25, 2011 7:59 am Hi everyone I thought would only be fair to share my first home building experience as I found alot of inspiration from looking at all of your posts and pics. We are building on the far north coast of NSW, building a modified heron with coral homes. So far we have approval (in only 3 weeks very happy with that) but no start date as yet, but shouldn't be far away . I will post some photo's soon......... ***Building coral HERON (modified) in the beautiful NSW far north coast*** H1 Thread - https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=48902 Re: Building heron with CORAL HOMES on NSW far north coast.. 3Jun 25, 2011 11:00 am Yay - Another Coral home. Can't wait to see pics of your plan. I loved the Heron plan, but it wasn't quite right for us. We are building the Stradbroke 279. Re: Building heron with CORAL HOMES on NSW far north coast.. 4Jun 25, 2011 7:53 pm Coral Club is growing.... we're doing a Stradbroke 251 on the Gold Coast.... keep us posted! Follow our journey at http://www.notgoingtodreamworld.blogspot.com Our build thread https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=48999 Re: Building heron with CORAL HOMES on NSW far north coast.. 5Jun 26, 2011 6:07 am The Stradbroke seems to be a popular choice it was my first pick after seeing the Pottsville display home, but it wasn't quite right for the block and we wanted to have a patio out the front coming off the main living area as that is where our view is. So a bit limited in choice without changing too much around. Sorry still working on pics....... ***Building coral HERON (modified) in the beautiful NSW far north coast*** H1 Thread - https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=48902 Re: Building heron with CORAL HOMES on NSW far north coast.. 6Jun 26, 2011 8:49 am Coral has a lot of awesome plans - it was so hard to choose. We had a list of requirements and the stradbroke ticked all the boxes. We did make a lot of changes though. Our tender letter was 19 pages long lol. Hubby is a shift worker so we wanted the master bedroom as far away from the kids area as possible so they didn't disturb him when he sleeps during the day. We also wanted the master on the opposite side of the pool. For some reason, kids scream in the pool and hubby used to get woken up. The only problem we had with the heron was the master bedroom. Otherwise we probably would have gone with that plan. Re: Building heron with CORAL HOMES on NSW far north coast.. 7Jun 26, 2011 9:51 am Hi here is pic of the plan, we got rid of the lounge room to make room for the patio and changed the kitchen to a gallery and moved it up the back. Our garage is dropped 600mm and there is stairs hence why it says single garage, we should fit both cars...I hope. The family room probably isn't as big as i'd like :roll oh well at least kids have the activity room I love corals designs for there activity rooms!!! Sorry photos not that clear but you get the idea Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ ***Building coral HERON (modified) in the beautiful NSW far north coast*** H1 Thread - https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=48902 Re: Building heron with CORAL HOMES on NSW far north coast.. 8Jun 26, 2011 10:03 am Oh wow!! That is very different - love it. It is so big and open in the main living area. I am sure you will fit 2 cars int he garage. Hubby's ute is too long for our garage, so we are building him a carport. Yeah I know what you mean ours was 22 pages, just when I thought we were done there was something else to change and it all comes with added cost!!!! ***Building coral HERON (modified) in the beautiful NSW far north coast*** H1 Thread - https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=48902 Re: Building heron with CORAL HOMES on NSW far north coast.. 11Jun 26, 2011 10:45 am ESB Great layout! Fantastic patio too ... love a good sized patio. Thanks just a bit worried we sacrificed the room inside to have the patios, but I do plan on spending plenty of time outside. ***Building coral HERON (modified) in the beautiful NSW far north coast*** H1 Thread - https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=48902 Re: Building heron with CORAL HOMES on NSW far north coast.. 12Jun 26, 2011 11:11 am We want a huge patio too .... but just couldn't afford it under roof, so we're having an add-on one after the house is built. The tenders doc's ... good to hear we weren't alone in receiving a huge document. It's a bit overwhelming and I know I missed things - don't know how many times I went through it all. I said we'd have NO variations - hmmm ... we just signed no 7. ~ trying to build our dream home by the sea ~ Re: Building heron with CORAL HOMES on NSW far north coast.. 13Jun 26, 2011 1:04 pm ESB We want a huge patio too .... but just couldn't afford it under roof, so we're having an add-on one after the house is built. It will look really nice - stop worrying!! Thanks that makes me feel better If my memory severs me correctly you are having lexicon for the walls, I would have love that but..... had to compromise. Our selections are similar aren't they I also would have loved the charcoal tiles on the bathroom walls but our bathroom's are smaller than yours and feared it would look to enclosed, so we choose to take the floor tile up the shower side in the ensuite and only do the one wall. ***Building coral HERON (modified) in the beautiful NSW far north coast*** H1 Thread - https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=48902 Re: Building heron with CORAL HOMES on NSW far north coast.. 17Jun 26, 2011 6:15 pm Yeah we are having lexicon 1/4. Our kitchen is also white, so will look very sterile until tiles are laid and the furniture is in. We have timber furniture to add warmth. Our ensuite is floor to ceiling charcoal with mosaic mirror trim. I wasn't game enough to do floor to ceiling in the kids bathroom - I think it is too small to get away with it. Re: Building heron with CORAL HOMES on NSW far north coast.. 18Jun 26, 2011 11:12 pm I love your colours. It feels like such a long wait to see the real thing but I will be patiently waiting for your pics.
