We were told that there was a backlog on screw piers and assumed that it was a supply problem. Then were told they had a new engineering company working for them. We were only held up for a week maximum. Coral were quick getting it all sorted. Re: Building heron with CORAL HOMES on NSW far north coast.. 42Jul 06, 2011 2:36 pm External colours....... I really wanted a lighter garage door and stain but the only other option classic cedar was just too orange for my liking. It makes it look a little dark with coaba but hopefully it's all good in real life . Sorry photo's dull and the bricks look creamer than they are. Re: Building heron with CORAL HOMES on NSW far north coast.. 48Jul 12, 2011 5:27 pm Tamara1975 Any news/answers RE: bricks?? Well I have chosen new ones.....couldn't get a black brick as boral don't have one in the QLD range and PGH doesn't either there is dark grey. I couldn't choose one brick from boral and one from PGH. As PGH doesn't have a standard range I went boral. Feature brick - Blue rio Main brick - Horizon Granite (hope it doesn't look too brown/beige next to blue rio?) Hope it turns out O.K?? PGH has a similar one to Blue rio called Blue steel flash actually like those better but they are twice as much. I'm out of pocket $101 with this variation, as far as I'm concerned I shouldn't have pay a cent as it's not my fault! But anything to get a start date ASAP been told by the end of the week we'll see. ***Building coral HERON (modified) in the beautiful NSW far north coast*** H1 Thread - https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=48902 Re: Building heron with CORAL HOMES on NSW far north coast.. 50Jul 12, 2011 5:44 pm ESB You have been charged a variation fee for a discontinued brick? I'd argue that one! Don't know having seen the variation yet they said they should have it done by friday . The $101 is extra but I had already paid an upgrade for the bricks previous I understand they cost a little more but hey, I think they just think I'm a sucker that won't question anything and pay up as I have been.... guess I'am a sucker . ***Building coral HERON (modified) in the beautiful NSW far north coast*** H1 Thread - https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=48902 Re: Building heron with CORAL HOMES on NSW far north coast.. 52Jul 13, 2011 9:46 pm smylee OMG Tamara1975 Here is an old thread from someone who also built the heron. They stopped posting before handover and started with the Hamilton plan, but they have a pic of their floor plan etc. viewtopic.php?f=31&t=19183 Hi Figured that because my thread got a mention here I could give a quick update! We love our Heron, no probs with energy flow thru back - laundry door is still what we consider as our back door anyway so?? Biggest concern we have (and having BSA inspection tomorrow to hopefully remedy) is the crap ceiling joins that are soooo noticeable when the lights go on! Apparently Coral builds to a standard which doesnt allow for normal oyster lights to be used - imagine that! The most readily available 'standard' type of light fitting is the reasonwe can see every join line & nail when the lights are on! Anyway apart from that they have been ok - kitchen wasnt able to be fixed so we are stuck with smaller entry into kitchen & different sized cupboards under stove but apart from that......the sliding door into the garage warps when its hot - apparently thats becuase they didnt paint the top, they cut it down to fit & now it will swell with humidity but apart from that ....well you get the idea - stay on them & dont put up with anything you are not happy with. Cheers WOW they don't build to standard for oyster lights is there anything they can do to fix this for you? Along with the other things???? How did your BSA inspection go?? anything get resolved?? umm I have seen many mixed reviews about people who have built with coral from there building standards to customer service. We all want the best for our homes but sometimes seems they don't care, they build so many.....but thats no excuse. Just a quick reply - no good with the BSA - its called glaning lighting & Coral have achieved a level 4 finish which is no joints visible under natural light. We either live with it or change just about every light in the house. Other stuff was pretty much fixed along the way so last thinf to fix was lights. Dont put oysters up if you are building with Coral tho! Cheers Re: Building heron with CORAL HOMES on NSW far north coast.. 53Jul 14, 2011 3:51 pm ESB It's always pay, pay and pay some more isn't it! Tell me about it... had a win though I changed the window frames and one of the external pain colours and haven't been charged a variation fee yeaaah! ***Building coral HERON (modified) in the beautiful NSW far north coast*** H1 Thread - https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=48902 Re: Building heron with CORAL HOMES on NSW far north coast.. 54Jul 14, 2011 5:11 pm smylee ESB It's always pay, pay and pay some more isn't it!
