Just had a look at a friend's HIA contract for his new build in Perth with a smallish builder. He has been given a yellow "specifications for brick or frame construction" and a blue "lump sum building contract".
As I have been reading through the threads in readiness for my own build, I notice there are many H1 saying that going through the contract takes hours. However the 2 HIA contracts are quite short and it appears that all the other variations and details are done separate and after the contract. Is that the norm in Perth? Also I cant find anywhere that there is a penalty if builders miss the completion time in the standard HIA contract. Again is this only for the Eastern states or can Perth people also request for a penalty?
