Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Jun 23, 2011 11:49 am Hi all, We need to pick paint colours at our final builders appt and just wondering if anyone could share what colours they went with and the scheme throughout the house etc for some inspiration... (photos are always good too)! We have a brown/cream/mocha/latte with hints of red throughout the house.. We have quite light tiles with a slight pattern swirl to them throughout the main living areas, we have grey/brown tiles to bathroom and laundry floors and almond tiles to walls.. TIA! We used Dulux Beige Royal Quarter on the walls and trim, with Peplum Quarter on the ceiling. Our furniture consists of dark chocolate timber, a dark brown couch and lighter cream dining chairs, and we've also used red accents throughout the kitchen and living area. We've used lighter mocha (Yoko cobble) blinds to make it feel not quite as dark. Hope that helps! Cheers, Re: Paint colours.. 4Jun 24, 2011 8:57 am Thats a huge help! Thank you!! However think about this, blinds will caste incoming light, which in turn will slightly alter the hue of internals. This is a great opportunity to add extra depth to the daytime colour of internal surfaces. With your brown/cream/mocha/latte scheme, blue Venetian blinds (slide #2 on this web page) would be complementary and will nudge the internal towards neutral. If the colour of the blinds are the exact complementary of one of the internal walls, you'd get some very funky tertiary colour castes happening. Windows are pathways to the soul of your home. Fingers crossed it will look OK 😀 2 7156 Thank you. That is really helpful.
