We are going to build a 800mm high retaining wall on the boundary. We need council approval for that.
There are two type applications: one is DA which costs about $200, another is DA and CC which costs more than $1000.
What is the difference of these two? In our case, which one should we go for?

B STAR, some councils require it for 600mm and above and sometimes it depends on the location of the wall in relation to other things like neighboring foundation etc...
But yes normally less than 1000mm is classed as landscaping.
We check it with council, it is said if the retaining wall is located less than 900mm from the boundary, no matter what's the height, we should have the approval from the council.
