Oh what beautiful laundry tiles Mrs B . I am really envious.They are the exact type of tiles I would have loved to have had for our laundry, main bathroom and toilet. Sigh there was nothing like them in the range I was looking at. and DH wouldn't let me even peek outside the builders range. I am soooooo jealous I wish I had insisted.Those green mosaics look fab too. Great with the other tiles. I'm so glad you posted a close up as I wasn't that taken with them in the picture I'd seen before but now I think they look wonderful. Stunning taste Mrs B , as always.

As said already, I love love your laundry! I thought I was happy with mine as its the first time EVER I'll actually have a bench... (albeit a very small one) but seeing yours makes we wish we'd had a bigger block of land that would have given us more floor space for a bigger laundry :wink:

Hi Clarity, I see in your blog that you also have mosaic tiles around the bath....looks fantastic! I wasnt going to do this but for the kids bathroom, I wanted to make it a little more fun and funky and really happy with the result. I also am having their wardrobes doors sprayed green as well :lol:

Having 3 boys, I wanted to do something different for their rooms. Their instructions was for a plain white room :roll:

can you believe that! The laundry in our rental (brand new) has no bench at all so am I looking forward to all that space. Also, our WIP is smaller than I wanted as it backs onto the laundry so something had to be sacrificed.

I have lived in the area all my life and it was a long time dream to own such a block. I must admit, we went down the house a few times during the weekend to see how high the river was as I have seen flooding several times during my life time. It would take a freak storm for the banks to break but I think we are high enough up not to be affected.

LOL Petal! I am moving into your house with that fabulous pool of yours. I have always wanted a pool but we never seem to be able to buy a block that is big enough. You must be so excited about spending christmas in your new home. Goodbye to rental properties with 2 bedrooms for 6 people :lol:

Your tiler is doing a fantastic job - I love the finishing on the mosaic and the large tiles. What are you going to have in your bar - bench? splashback? cupboards? We are going to have a bar but we have to do it ourselves after handover.

Has your builder given you an approximate completion date?

Make sure you have plenty of coverage for flood in your insurance policy Mrs B..... I keep remembering the famous pics of the pool tables floating down the Flemington straight. :shock:

The bar will have 2 pac henna red cabinet doors, stone bench top (not sure what colour yet) cabinets up top are white and silver and a glass splahback, colour to be decided. I actually found this area the hardest to design and found no inspiration on the internet. I was going to have open shelving etc but I dont really like that 'bar' look LOL I suppose it would be similiar to a kitchen you would find in a studio apartment....oven, sink and bar fridge. We also have gas there as well if ever we wanted to make it into a 2nd kitchen. The architect designed it that way so we could have future options. So really even though I call it a bar, it really is a second kitchen.

The builder hasnt given us a completion date and I am not interested in hearing it anyway. I wouldnt believe any date he told me....the house will be finished when its finished. can you tell I am really angry that we are not in before christmas

I also cannot wait to see the house finished. I hate feeling this way, resentful....terrible feeling to have in life so off I go to try and find that nice calm zen place :wink:

I suppose what I am so angry about is that months went by during Sept, Oct, Nov where no one worked on the house. To me this was the crucial time where all of this should have been done.

I understand how you feel about the delays because we have gone through the same experience (since october we have had minimum action on site) - I agree it is a terrible feeling not having control of your own project.

About the bar, red 2 pac cupboards will be a show stopper. I have just started designing mine and I am thinking of having a red splashback (I think I am brave enough to have red in a bar), overhead glass open shelves fixed on the splashback, and dark wood grain cupboards with provision for a bar fridge. I like your idea of the possibility of a future 2nd kitchen but we are going to have an outside kitchen/BBQ area which is close to the bar so no need for one. We are planning on doing these projects ourselves after handover to keep building costs minimum.

OMG Donuts...that was embarassing that post :oops:

but it was so funny to write it. When I first started to blog, I knew I had to just be myself so if admitting to having a fascination for toilets then so be it.
No I am not going to continue the red above the cupboards, I dont think its needed. On a side note, my builder also said I shouls do the colour right up to the ceiling :shock:
