To cut a very long story short, our build has been so slow that I didnt even have the motivation to post any more. We are now into our 14 month and only up to the tiling stage. Here are some photos of the tiling...Our laundry and powder room. I also have started a blog where you can get the whole story and my whinging ![]() Sorry about the poor quality photos ![]() ![]() Laundry Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Powder Room Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ You wont see any colours on the cabinets yet as they are just the carcasses(sp) in the photos. Mrs B ![]() Re: Our House 403Dec 13, 2008 3:51 pm very nice Mrs B. Did not know you have a blog. Just had a look, love your inspirational photos! It is a taking a while to build your house, is it because it is a custom builder? Re: Our House 404Dec 13, 2008 4:01 pm Mrs B,
I love the layout of your laundry - it is unique and has lots of storage. The tiling looks great - I am sure it will look stunning when the tiling and cabinets are completed. I understand how you feel about the slow progress on your house - I feel the same. I have just been informed that our house will not be completed before x-mas and handover will be probably mid Feb 2009(nearly 14 months). braveheart Re: Our House 405Dec 13, 2008 4:05 pm Hi Sammy
It is a custom build and the reason it is taking so long is that the builder is very particular in what tradies he users. Also, for example all our windows were not standard, commercial grade with double glazing therefore special order. I could go on and on but it dosent change the fact it is not done before christmas ![]() Mrs B Re: Our House 406Dec 13, 2008 4:10 pm ![]() Mrs B, I love the layout of your laundry - it is unique and has lots of storage. Gees Braveheart, you must be so disappointed and you are so far ahead of us. There is nothing either of us can do other than hope the builders get their acts together and at least attempt ![]() ![]() Mrs B ![]() Re: Our House 407Dec 13, 2008 4:10 pm Mrs B, I rather have a good quality build that takes 14-16 months than a bad quality build that took 6 months! We had heaps of problems with the quality of our house. The time it takes to build will be forgotten once you move in, but a bad build will last forever...
Besides, that is what a blog is for, to whinge until your house is done, hehehe. BTW...I was so excited when I saw you were following my blog ![]() Hi Sammy I agree with what you wrote about a good quality build and all my friends remind me of this when I start the whinging. I have to just keep reminding myself to be patient and everything he has done has been exceptional. I just cant stand the lack of progress because it really worries me and I hope everything is alright ![]() Mrs B Re: Our House 411Dec 14, 2008 12:13 am Hi Mrs. B.!!!

I thought I was happy with mine as its the first time EVER I'll actually have a bench...
