There are windows right along the front and up in the balcony as well, all double glazed. I love window furnishings and I have considered a few ways to go. I will use a mixture of blinds and curtains like the ones in the picture below.

However, our house pales into insignifance compared to some of our neighbours houses...one in particular that looks over the harbour, still being built.

I live in your area and often walk and drive through your estate. Some of my friends live on the other side of the river and think your house looks "amazing" and wonder what it will look like when it is finished. I had a little chuckle to myself knowing that I have been following your progress here. I told my friends how I think it will look by describing your 3D pics! :lol:

They'll think I'm psychic!

I just thought you'd enjoy knowing that your house is already catching the eye of those around you for all the right reasons. It's going to be a great home.

Oh, Mrs B...now I'm really jealous!!! :lol:

Looks just stunning!!! Yes, our place is big - 4 kids! We also made tha garage bigger and had them build a room within that to be used as a gym/music room. And, yes, I drive past 2-3 times a day. The builders leave the gates open now, I think b/c they know I'm coming to take photos straight after school pick up!!! :oops:

Well, I guess we shouldn't feel bad about that - it's good to be excited, and we're paying for it, so we have a right to follow the progress!!!

I just hope I can get the exterior colours right...it still is work in progress. As I said previously, the day the colours go on I think I will hide. It is quite a small community in my street and everybody has a comment about everybodies houses. Just imagine when our colours are on, your friends will tell you if they like it or not ::wink::

Its bad when everybody in the street stops working and looks at you...3-4 times a day, waves and all :oops:

Four kids, wow, they must keep you busy, we have 3 and that is plenty.

Yep, 4 kids keeps me busy - but you would be plenty busy with 3, too! I meant to say - you would absolutely love that "sugar cube" house on Grand Designs. The back was all glass, the stair case was cantilevered off a wall of gorgeous natural stone. The kids' brms had glass walls, which, if you flicked a switch would instantly change to obscure glass.....it was just amazing!!!!
Oh, and last night I was showing DH the pics of your place in this thread (and he was most impressed!) and I came across your tile pictures. We did our tile re-selection yestserday, and you won't believe it, but...I picked that same brighter green glass mosaic that you're having , as a feature for son #2's ensuite!!! I PROMISE I had no idea you'd chosen it - I almost felt a little embarrassed when I saw it last night ! I knew you'd picked green, I didn't know what, though (it's DH and son #2's favourite colour). I'm putting it down to "great minds.... "! I also chose the red version for my daughter's ensuite feature (did you see that one? I's gorgeous!) So, there you go, at least you know I'm being totally honest in my admiration of your house!!! :wink:

We're having a polished concrete surround (called the 'Athena') for our fireplace..I'll try to attach an image...
Okay..not sure if that worked....Nope doesn't look like it..
Anyway, it's one of the things I'm very much looking forward to! :wink:

Well, it's not ON here, but at least you can see the photo if you click on that link!!! I'll have to work out (read "get someone to help me") how to actually post the photos on here!!!
As you can see, you have to have a raised fp to have that particular surround (about 600mm off the floor). There are similar ones that sit at floor level, though.
