Re: Our House 561Apr 14, 2009 4:03 pm Mrs B Just wonderful, your house is so amazing to look at. That coffee machine looks right at home against the red splashback. How shiny is everything. I love shiny and new. Thankyou so much for sharing your photos and ideas, they have been fantastic to view. I also spotted your hydronic heating panels, they look great. We are also having hydronic heating panels and now I know how good they will look. I'm looking forward to that decorating blog. Re: Our House 563Apr 14, 2009 10:24 pm Congratulations Mrs B and family - you have a very beautiful house that will be a great home. Enjoy every moment - hope to see you in H and G or Vogue Re: Our House 564Apr 14, 2009 10:37 pm DRoooooooooooooooooooooooooooooool! Your kitchen looks amazing! And the floorboards!!!!!!!!!! To die for! What species is the floor? Is the kitchen twopack? Do you mind me asking if you have long fingernails? I've always wondered how userfriendly handleless drawers would be for longish nails. I'm thinking of getting them myself, handleless drawers that is Love love love your kitchen! Re: Our House 565Apr 15, 2009 6:14 am gettingThere DRoooooooooooooooooooooooooooooool! Hi getting There The floorboards are blackbutt done in a satin finish. The kitchen is twopack My drawers are not the most user friendly and it has taken a while to get use to them. I havent got long nails so I can use them fine. The pot drawers are terrific and the little tandem drawers inside are so handy to have. I probably wouldnt recommend these type of drawers if you have long nails. I know a few posters on other threads have already said they have difficulty with opening drawers without handles because of their nails. Hope this has helped Thank you to everybody again who has wished us well in settling down into our new home. I will just say the stress of moving in almost sent me to the edge yesterday. At 7.30 the painter arrived followed by 2 foxtell blokes then the carpenter, plumber, landscaper, kitchen guys, mirror company and my SS to ask me if everything was OK. My nerves were holding until MrB told me that my lovely SIL is coming to 'see the house' in 30mins with the kids. Please, someone give me a drink D But...at least they were there! and that made me very happy Mrs B Re: Our House 566Apr 15, 2009 8:58 am The boys bedroom looks just fabulous and of course the rest of the house.......The even extra fun bit now, the dressing of the house and seeing how all your personal items turn your new house into your beautiful home. Re: Our House 569Apr 15, 2009 6:44 pm Wow, i've just looked through the finishes pics of your things in the house now and it looks great! I just love love love your kitchen. That kitchen is just to die for, the red glass splashback is just amazing against the shiny white poly cupboards! (I'm pretty sure they are white... ) Your son's room, the theatre room, the kids bathroom, everything!!! you should be really, really proud of your choices and of course Michelle you've done a fantastic job too! Well Mrs B, that thread you started about "how to take good house photos" really paid up as your photos are great! Thanks Jochicho for your really nice comments As for the wallpaper, yes I am definately going ahead with it in the WIP but just have to get the samples first. The wallpaper has gone to the 'back burner' a bit as the nightmare move has taken all my energy As for the photos...I am trying to be selective in the angles I take the pictures so I suppose just thinking more about the picture I am taking. I am still not happy with the colours on my pictures but oh well BTW...I am having real difficulties with loading pics at the moment on my blog...so slow and freezes all the time The landscaping has been finished so I will try and load pics her on this thread instead. Mrs B Re: Our House 572Apr 16, 2009 9:51 pm would love to see the landscaping pics when you manage to upload them. Well, if you are not happy with the colours in the pics that must mean that your house is even more amazing in real life, wow, you should be very proud! The wall paper will be a nice extra touch later down the track, like getting something new again! Building a Wisdom Prosperity 23 - http://erwisdomprosperity.blogspot.com/ Re: Our House 573Apr 17, 2009 6:40 am Here are pics of my garden...It is an all Australian native garden, plantings designed to attract native birds. It is a mixture of grasses and other flowering plants. It should take a few months to take hold so dosent look like much at the moment. It really was just a relief to get it done as soon as we moved in. All part of our contract, front and back. The side area is the only section left for us to do (not in photos) The decking still has to be sanded and given 3 coats of stain...the guys are waiting for the garden to be finished to do this. I think it will have a red colour to it.
