Your home looks absolutely stunning, and I'm not at all surprised you are proud! You should be, as you have done an amazing job of designing it! After a few nights sleeping in it, does it 'feel' like home now? Or is it still a bit strange? After such a long time it must feel kind of surreal to actually be in it! I'm so looking forward to seeing some more photos on your blog! Congratulations once again, and best wishes!! Hi Stormy I hope your brickies are back from their holiday soon! Don't forget, we had literally months that went by waiting for a particular skilled trdesman to work on our house...it is worth the wait but it was very difficult as you know. It is very surreal and here I am up at 4am and still cant sleep...I am still just so excited. The last time I was like this was when I was in hospital after having the kids. My brain dosent switch off at all when I am all pumped up. The house still feels strange and I still get spooked Its all the new noises I have to get use to with the neighbours, dripping somewhere from one of our down pipes and a door shuts when we leave the windows open. All just normal house noises. I did the washing yesterday for the first time in the house, locked myself away in my laundry and just potted around in there for a while , escaping the havoc from the rest of the house. My laundry would have to be one of my favourite rooms as there is so much space and quite a pretty room. The moving has been the most difficult with the kids espacially with our little fella and our garage looks like a bomb site. I am really looking forward to decorating the house...this is what my blog is meant to focus on but atm it is all just overwhelming. To everybody who has left comments and followed this thread...I cant thank you enough for all your beautiful, positive and encouraging messages It has helped me so much during the last few years to get through this building project. In danger of this sounding like an Oscar speech there is one particular person on the forum who I want to acknowledge and thank from the bottom of my heart who has help me create a home that reflects my taste and personality. Without her, there would be no green doors, red splashback and a beautiful facade with that green shiny door. Its these colours that have given my house personality and it does take a very foolish I mean brave person to paint doors bright green. Michelle took me on as a client early last year I think and she would have to be one of the most professional person I have worked with on this project. She listened to what I wanted, suggested colours, suggested more and more colours until I was 100% happy. What I found terrific about Michelle is that she works with you, so if I had an idea, I know she spent hours of her own time finding that perfect colour or that one off wallpaper that I saw on TV years ago just to keep me happy. Michelle went beyond what was required of her and always so generous with her time she spent on my project. Sometimes its good to have a mentor or someone just to talk to, throw ideas around when designing your own home from scratch and I am so grateful that Michelle was there for me. So thankyou Michelle I could not have done this without you. Mrs B Re: Our House 557Apr 14, 2009 8:24 am Mrs B, it's just beautiful! You're going to have so much fun decorating... Michelle did a wonderful job, and I love your adventurous colour accents. Do you have plans yet for the area outside your kitchen window? I'm wondering what the view will be....? Re: Our House 558Apr 14, 2009 9:34 am Oh, Mrs B - I missed it!!!!! Huge CONGRATULATIONS I am SO thrilled for you and your lovely family, and wish you many, many happy times there. Absolutely breathtakingly magnificent....and did I spy a coffee machine just sitting there waiting....???!!!! MrsB, I love your green lounge, it suits that space perfectly with that amazing view too. I love the theatre room too (saw your blog) they choc brown lounge is lovely, and the blue too.. I can relate to the new house noises, I get DH to stay up till I'm asleep - otherwise I can't get to sleep... I hear too much (sometimes he's too tired, and I'm left hearing noises and thinking too much when he falls asleep first ) Congrats again on a beautiful home. of course there are legal avenues. You've already mentioned it. Sue them.
