Phoenix, I always go to your posts first because you are at the same stage as me and it is exciting watching the progress of your house. I cannot wait to see what you are going to do inside...very exciting Paula, I cant wait for you to start yours as well. I have lived this house for the last 2 years and bought countless magazines...still changing my mind hehe Mrs B ps...Jet 79 That darn power pole! pss..Paula, is that a Poliform unit you have in your Avatar? Looking very very good. Oak floors also look great .. it was a toss up between oak and spotted gum for us. Re: Our House 52Feb 26, 2008 10:04 pm DeeElle I like your house bones Mrs. B. Looking very very good. Oak floors also look great .. it was a toss up between oak and spotted gum for us. I need to do a bit more research about oak floors. I know one thing for certain, after living in this rental property, I do not want highly polished floors...too hard to keep clean. I just want a nice satin finish. Do you know anything about oak floors DeeElle? Mrs B Re: Our House 53Feb 26, 2008 10:13 pm Mirs B,

It is light and uniform in colour - goes well with minimalist designs. It has a very close grain and a swirly pattern throughout. We saw a large picture of a house that had been laid in American oak when we purchased our wood (Planet Timbers). The owner has put it throughout his house and it looked absolutely beautiful. found a link for you with Janka hardness rating: http://www.connollys.com.au/flooring-species.html and a close up pic Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Re: Our House 55Feb 27, 2008 12:33 pm VJ Mirs B, Your house looks very nice... and how come your site is so clean? hehe.. ours is so muddy.. dirty! DH cleaned the site last weekend! Hi VJ, not as clean as I would like...I have slipped with my weekly cleaning duties I think I am dreading the rain and mud that follows...specially if the workers are working inside...in comes all the mud. Good luck with your build to, I follow yours with great interest as well. Yes, same thing in our site.. because of the rain recently.. very muddy everyday! And they scrape the mud from their shoes with the help of our frames! DH started cleaning it last weekend. Wonder if we can demand our builder to ensure a clean site at least before the week ends? ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Built the Nevada 42 Next project - landscaping! Supplier of windows is holding up the build. I really like your roof line as well Mrs B. Looking good. of course there are legal avenues. You've already mentioned it. Sue them.
