I have contacted a few builders with regards to a building project that would involve demolition of an existing house on a block and then a build of two single storey houses, side by side and joined in the middle.
Two of the builders have mentioned that it is a good idea to wait a minimum of 3 months after the existing house is demolished before the slab for the new development is put in.
This is so that the soil under the existing house, consolidates or becomes more uniform (eg. moisture wise) with the exposed soil on the rest of the property.
Any thoughts? Comments? Advice?
Thanks in advance.
