Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Jun 13, 2011 7:45 pm Hello all, We're at the variations/upgrade stages and need to make sure we have enough money put away for the above items. Any ballpark figures on what we should budget for these, to be safe, would be appreciated. We are going to need approximately 65lm of lapped timber fencing, assuming no neighbours build on zero lot line. Estate imposes a maximum of 1850mm height for fences, and for the moment we're working with the assumption that we'll get fencing that high. We're also assuming we'll be able to split the cost with neighbours 50/50, is there any reason that might not be a safe assumption? We'll also want timber gates on each side, about 2000mm wide. Landscaping just needs to give us about 40m2 of smoothly graded, top dressed, drought resistant front lawn with maybe 1-2 rectangular cutouts for plants about 2000mm2 each. We'll do the planting ourselves, unless it turns out to be much cheaper than expected. We will need approximately 35m of concrete paths 900mm wide with ramps up to door level, for wheelchair access, which would be about 1000mm long and go up to 300mm high. Coloured concrete (to be uniform with the driveway, which the builder includes), if we can afford it. So far we have budgeted: * Fencing: $3k * Concreting: $4k * Landscaping: $20k (I'm hoping this is way off, but we saw a lot of wildly varying quotes around the place). Hi, you've probably already resolved this, however, Commbank will probably pay the funds to you after you send evidence the work is done regardless the change in the quotes. 1 35331 Ha all, I am now about half way (maybe a bit more) through my build with Carlisle Homes - double-storey knockdown/rebuild project.
