Re: Did you name your house? 3Jun 13, 2011 8:14 am Some friends named their property Mozzie Park in jest, due to the amount of water and mozzies around.. They hand painted a sign which was there for a couple of years before they built... They renamed it, a nice name too... but too late. And that's how it is today in Melway 10 years later... I would say the farm has been called that for 100 yrs and we are going to carry it on. We plan to have it on our front letter box / fence ?? Re: Did you name your house? 9Jun 13, 2011 11:04 am Hi - I am naming the new house 'Come by Chance' - after the children's book which is about the lady who lets all the animals come into her house when it is raining. My Cousin named her house Koorabel - which I think is beautiful - I think it has a meaning (?). My parents place is called 'Paradise Point' - old family joke, - 'nothing ever goes wrong at Paradise point......' I love the idea of naming houses - just beautiful! In fact, I think I may call it "The S**thole" more often than I care to admit! I leave you to fend for yourself, figure things out yourself. Did you name your house? 12Jun 13, 2011 2:07 pm Ours is called Lambton Castle - because when we were building we used to bet on a trotter called the same thing. Co incidentally we are in Lambton and our families joke the house is big enough to be a castle. Some things are worth waiting for. My parents house is called Sunbury (after the region in Victoria that my dad grew up in) - they had a frosted glass window made up with Sunbury written on it and had it installed above the front door (it's an old Federation style house with 14 foot ceillings, so there was plenty of room!). My aunt and uncles house is called Sherwood - they are very keen gardeners and their house has featured in some magazines and won a few gardening awards, so they named it after Sherwood Forrest. It is a beautiful two storey federation style house though - honestly one of the most well laid out and beautiful homes I have ever been in - and every room has been painted a different colour. Really dramatic colours as well, no neutrals at all. Sounds terrible, but it works REALLY well. Because of all the different colours though, we have nicknamed it the Dulux Mansion. And yes our house is in a valley!! Thanks for the ideas everyone!!! Might check out the older threads too!!!
