I wonder if any builders allow people access to their house prior to handover to do their own stuff if there is a hold up? We would love to get in and seal our tiles/grout...get our electrician to do our downlights etc; as we have been stuffed around a bit with the wait.... yet to request this however plan to do so this week. What I got from a seminar I went to was that you have wait until after handover, because if the people you organise come in, if anything happens to anything, they may blame your workers and not fix or get you to pay for the damage etc..... We will be doing the work and electrical stuff by family so are aware if any accidental damage occurs we would be responsible. Would having had final inspection beforehand make a difference?
