Figured it was better to have the niches tiled nicely Re: Building own design with Format SA 83Jul 25, 2011 1:24 pm looks great! i like the different colour on the back and sides of the kitchen island Re: Building own design with Format SA 84Jul 28, 2011 9:21 pm Not too much to report. Eaves are finished, tiling should be finished by the end of tomorrow. When i called past yesterday the painter was already starting to prep - he said it will take him 3 weeks as he works alone. I guess the second fix plumbing will be in soon, and the cornice will be fixed/finished. Hope to have some finished tile photos next week. Re: Building own design with Format SA 85Aug 01, 2011 9:32 pm Hi All Not much to report - things arent as exciting atm. Tiling will be finished by Wednesday, rendering was completed today. Painter has painted the ceilings in the bedrooms and study. Downpipes are on. Sorry, no new pics yet. Re: Building own design with Format SA 86Aug 02, 2011 10:01 am slow but steady https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=43937&start=0 Bought a block in Golden Grove - Jan 2011 Finally finished our design, Mar 2012, *yay* Signed with ADH council consent June 12 Re: Building own design with Format SA 87Aug 02, 2011 1:49 pm Agree with dreamcometrue sounds like steady progress Re: Building own design with Format SA 88Aug 05, 2011 11:07 pm Sorry still no pics - will post some on the weekend. Went to the house today, but couldnt get in. Looks like the plumber has been, sinks and taps (from what i could see through the windows) have been installed. Not sure about toilets, maybe one i think i saw the other still in the box in the family room. Painter has applied the first coat to pretty much the whole house. Tiling is finished. Shower screens in next week, and hopefully bricks cleaned. Not sure when I will be moving in, but its getting closer. BTW, can someone tell me what PCI actually stands for? Re: Building own design with Format SA 95Aug 11, 2011 10:06 pm Thanks everyone for your nice comments. No we decided to do floorboards, with the exception of the 3 bedrooms and front lounge. When we lived in Darwin we had tiles throughout, and its really hard on your body if you have sore parts (feet, knees etc), and we really like the warmth of floorboards. thanks DingoD64 - i did feel like up numpty asking tho! Apparently our walk through we be in 2 weeks - how excited are we about that??? Re: Building own design with Format SA 96Aug 15, 2011 8:51 pm Spoke to SS today who advised walk through should be next Friday - weather permitting. The big hold up at this stage is the painter, and the company coming in to fix the bricks. So hopefully once the weather fines up later in the week, it stays fine. We are terribly excited - cant believe we will be in in around 5 weeks!! Re: Building own design with Format SA 97Aug 15, 2011 9:42 pm Looking wonderful Drayto, love the tiles in the niche! Can't believe it's only about 5 weeks away! Have you got everything organised? Re: Building own design with Format SA 99Aug 15, 2011 10:02 pm Thanks Broom - we are happy with the result - they match the floor tiles well. Initially i wasnt happy with how they had been laid, but have got use to it now and are fine with the result. Mmmm i am not really sure what i need to organise Theresa. We have already selected who will provide our gas and electric - had to do that months ago. Think we have decided to go with telstra for phone and internet, but not really sure when we orgnaise things. If you are aware, please let me know, i would really appreciate it. Re: Building own design with Format SA 100Aug 15, 2011 10:09 pm Haha...I was hoping you could tell me cos I don't know! Sounds like that's about it with the essentials. I'm also collecting newspapers for curtains Hi Mofflepop, I would recommend finding a building designer to prepare plans, they should design to your specified budget. The benefit is you can tender the project out… 9 20416 From a pure legal perspective, if you've signed the variation, it is a very high bar to have it set aside. No-one can give you legal advice on a forum, but you would need… 3 5478 Thank you so much for the effort. We will use it to talk with builder.
