I am reluctant to use Jack Hammer thinking that vibration would affect the house/slab. Any suggestion would be appreciated. It basically occurs when a bit of the trench falls in. The form work is only used above ground. Nima, is there a real need to remove it. Can you just cover it up?? Re: How to remove excess concrete 4Jun 07, 2011 9:32 am We had a lot of concrete like that coming out of our outdoor room concrete, which was laid after the slab. And some small bits coming from the main slab, which a chisel dealt with. We dealt with the large parts from the outdoor room with a combination of a crowbar (the heavy 6 foot kind, like a giant chisel), a metal hammer, pick axe and a small chisel for the last bits. And a shovel and a trowel for digging away the dirt underneath first. We had to remove it to lay some drains. Water was pooling over the concrete and would take days to clear.
