As for getting payment for going over 30 weeks, we'll see if we get any. Our 30 weeks, including 3 week xmas shutdown ended 17/4. But last count, we had about 12 weeks allowable rain delays. So, we would be getting close. Not that $15/day is going to make much difference. Re: Who's building with Clarendon?? 9464Jul 16, 2015 1:38 pm Cheryl at the end of the day if uve paid for it and especially if u have kids and r wiping the walls it is better to have low sheen. Thats it the rain allowance is big which means they have a lot of extra weeks, every builder is the same. DG85 $15 per day sounds about right, crazy hey when a variation costs $1000 admin charge.. Building the Waterside34 (39 after upgrades) Re: Who's building with Clarendon?? 9465Jul 16, 2015 2:19 pm Pretty excited right now. Next Friday (24th July) they are allowing builders on-site to do soil and survey tests so we can finally move along and get a contract. Should hopefully get a contract in time to avoid a price rise. Land is registered and we settle on Tuesday next week (lets have a hooray for a 2nd mortgage). So in the next couple of months I can post pics too Re: Who's building with Clarendon?? 9466Jul 16, 2015 2:22 pm bmitchel Pretty excited right now. After yesterday's stupid question I have 2 more: 1) when did you organise demolition and another place to stay?? We are just finalizing everything after colours and know council will take anywhere from 6 weeks to 6 months - so what have you all done?? 2) What extra did you spend at tiles?? I know I need to extend the splashback, but after colours I know they will surprise us with some expense... what did you spend more on?? Thank you (my husband is worried I spend more time talking you guys than him - but you have helped me (us) so much!!! Building a Modified Madison 37. Re: Who's building with Clarendon?? 9469Jul 16, 2015 3:05 pm We are building on new land so no demo but with the tiles we went floor to ceiling in all three bathrooms and a feature wall in each bathroom cost us $9k. No kitchen tiling as we deleted it to get a glass/ mirror back splashback put in after handover! Building the Clarendon Merriden 30 (44 after Mods) @ Harrington Grove! We already have floor to ceiling tiling and I wanted to know if you could do splashback after, which we might do ourselves. Can I ask what you did for your feature wall and roughly how.much that cost?? Thank you Building a Modified Madison 37. Re: Who's building with Clarendon?? 9472Jul 16, 2015 4:38 pm Leese I would wait till you have council approval before you knock your house down. But it also depends if you need to find somewhere to live or if you are going to move in with family etc. We are struggling to find a rental and are going to end up at Mums if we don't find something in the next fortnight. Re: Who's building with Clarendon?? 9473Jul 16, 2015 5:21 pm We had to demolish our house to get the final soil test and site survey done before council plans were lodged. Once they have the money, they will still do it, but you will be tired of calling them every day. They will just drag their feet. On the other hand, if they know they will only get their money once everythign is fixed, they will hurry up ! Wish I knew this. We could have afforded to push handover back a week, but our SS kept promising he will get everythign done. He just didn't promise how soon ! Who's building with Clarendon?? 9477Jul 16, 2015 7:07 pm Well my SS has said that everything will get fixed in the 2 weeks before handover.
