Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Who's building with Clarendon?? 18062Nov 17, 2017 5:25 pm JK27 k3nnis Hi jk, what do you mean against PA? And what are the issues? so we had $10K PA for rock excavation and $2K PA for plumbing/hydraulics, which Ive asked for several times over the last couple of months and told we had to wait. We have also already paid for DEB, please excavation for it, we also paid an additional $7K in hydraulics/plumbing for this DEB, they now want to charge us $2750 for formwork on the DEB and more for rock excavation for DEB, plus almost $5K for rock excavation for the plumbing work. It's friday and I don't have the energy to stress tonight, will get pumped up for the reply on Sunday night Hmm. Did they say why you need DEB and not retaining walls after handover instead? I also had 10k rock PA but got almost all of it back. Around $9500 back. They encountered tiny bit of rock when digging for the electrical lines. Re: Who's building with Clarendon?? 18063Nov 18, 2017 5:03 pm For those that are in a double storey build, are you able to take a pic of the 2nd storey ceiling finish for me if possible? We've got issues with the way our gyprock is finished - you can see every join across the entire ceiling whereas in the display homes they aren't visible and in other builds they aren't visible... We've been told that a boral rep can be organised on site to discuss the finish and will be following this up early next week to lock in a day and time... Hi bumblebee1985 - Sad to hear that you had to reject the handover, but I'm glad that you pushed them to get the thngs done properly. There's still a month before Christmas, so I'm hoping they'll finish your stuff and do the handover before the holidays. After all paying for builder's insurance on completed house during the holiday period is waste of money for them,so that will keepthem motivated. Question about PCI and handover meetings - are those meeting limited by time? I mean how much time do you get to spend on site during PCI and handover? Does SS remain there with you all the time? My SS has always been terrible, and has had tantrums all along... (initials DD).. I'm hoping you don't have the same guy! We were told to plan for 1.5hrs for PCI but ended up taking close to 3.5hrs and handover was meant to be 30 mins but we took 2.5hrs in the end... Don't let them rush you through - that's what they intend to do but we purposely rook our time and I had a clipboard with paper and pen to write everything down so we knew what to check etc... We've got a Boral consultant coming at some stage to look at our ceiling on the top floor because we're not happy with the finished product so will see how that goes and what they suggest to remedy it...but not holding my breath when it comes to this build to be honest - it's been a nightmare from the start...wouldn't wish Clarendon on my worst enemy!! Re: Who's building with Clarendon?? 18075Nov 19, 2017 7:22 pm JK27 k3nnis Hi jk27, hows your build going? Handover before Xmas? It's going, SS still fairly confident we will have handover before Christmas, but it's going to be so close not sure how they will get any rectification work finalised. Got our Practical Completion email etc....sadly now the arguing is going to start, not happy about a few things they want to apply the majority of our PA's against!! JK27 - Sorry could you elaborate about the last part? Didn't understand what you meant byfew things that wanted to apply majority of your PA's against? What's PA? (Sorry I feel silly asking all this). I was having a look at your blog and loved your kitchen. Could you please give me the measurement length of the kitchen bench. Thank you! Kitchen bench is 3090mm long and we made it 1000mm deep so we could use it as a breakfast bar. Hi - just wanted to know how much it costed to extend the width from 800mm to 1000mm? We're at this stage of the process and enquiring. Looking forward to hearing from you. Hope your new home is great. Hope your new home is great. We were quoted $2,500 for a 220mm width upgrade (780mm to 1000mm) on a 3640mm length bench. Not sure if this includes upgraded stone from Sapphire or not. the stair balustrades? There is nothing special about these and I imagine literally every stair installer will be able to do this. 1 6688 The two 15mm holes are obviously not compliant.
