Hopefully choices we made come together as nicely... how far along are you in your build? When are you expecting to move in? Very excited for you! Oh yeah i was very worried about our tile selections. they are currently doing wet area tiles. main flooring after handover. they need to do plumbing and electrical works they haven't given us any date yet. said shall give once the tiling is over.so we are waiting for that. Re: Who's building with Clarendon?? 14065Apr 13, 2016 12:56 pm leese Love the black tiles Cruise! Building a Modified Madison 37. thanks leese and debba we started at the end of october and didn't have any work for a month during christmas. not sure about weeks lol Re: Who's building with Clarendon?? 14066Apr 13, 2016 2:53 pm leese What would you do?? My husband and SS have come to an agreement over the height of our garage door opening. It is 10cm lower than what is in our final consolidation, but will be 30cm higher than it is now. Better but not perfect for us. They are going to have to do a row of vertical bricks at the top so I think it is going to look a bit odd so we are going to have to render the garage (we tossed up doing this). Do I demand Clarendon to pay for rendering -as they messed up (sneakily changing our plans after we signed off) and now not giving us what we paid extra for?? Demand some money back?? Leave it?? Anyone had a situation like this? What did you do? What did they do?? Building a Modified Madison 37. We had a situation with our alfresco area where we had some part timber beams and the other part bricked. We were expecting it all to be bricked as per the display. When we had the meeting we were told that because we didn't get the balcony upgrade above the grand alfresco the part without anything above had timber rather than a steel beam. It looked terrible so we demanded it be boxed in at the very least. That was still going to be obvious so we opted to get the whole ceiling lined with cedar to make it look more 'grand'. We did have to pay for the cedar but not the gyprock for the boxing. We were very happy with the rate they charged us. We also had hardly any action on Mondays and Tuesday's. I like to look at what has been achieved over a week at a time rather than each day. Otherwise I would have gone crazy!! I don't mind the position of the mixer. No idea why they bothered to move the outlet. Now the outlet looks too far to the right. I saw on the plans how they got this wrong. The picture is right but the measurements are way out... Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ It will still probably work it's just annoying they can't read or use common sense even. On the positive. Painting is progressing well and should be done by Monday I would say. Tiler was back yesterday by looks finishing off some unfinished tiling in downstairs powder. I just want a date Re: Who's building with Clarendon?? 14071Apr 14, 2016 11:13 am k3nnis Thanks I am trying to figure out in reality is there much difference for ground floor to be 2600mm vs 2700mm or 2750mm. The big thing is going to 2750 allows you to increase the door/window heights, 2600 you can't. Re: Who's building with Clarendon?? 14073Apr 14, 2016 12:51 pm rogy Are they going to do some waterproofing again before they place the tiles on? Yes, they need to do waterproofing on that section... I hope since they've had to pull these tiles off that the waterproofing will still be good with a patch job. I'll have to insist on this with a photo or something. The SS was pretty quick getting this fixed after I raised it and he did mention the things that needed to be done. I doubt he wouldn't get the waterproof people back. Then again, stupid heads did tile etc in the first place with this stuff in stupid positions.... Re: Who's building with Clarendon?? 14076Apr 14, 2016 2:39 pm So painting is happening now and should finish Monday. Next week looks like fitout is happening with Plumbing, Electrical and Data happening. Unsure about A/C. Tuesday after ANZAC day the ceiling batts go in. Wednesday after ANZAC day the main floor tiling downstairs and the fix-ups etc get cleaned up in the wet areas (ensuite). Haven't got a handover date yet, but it should be in the early 20s of May. Hopefully at least 1 week before 30th as that is our settlement date for this house. It's all happening. Oh, the SS also got back to me about the ensuite and he agrees the outlet is too far to the right up top, so hes getting the plumber to move that 100mm to the left so that will suit a lot better. Front door is finally going to be reglazed with translucent glass tomorrow. Re: Who's building with Clarendon?? 14077Apr 14, 2016 3:50 pm Drove past the house this afternoon and the bricks are now to the top of the upper floor windows so only a few courses to go to get to the roofline. Doesn't look like they've touched above the garage where it is wrong, I didn't get out of the car though and it's hard to see with the scaffolding. I think I might have to give our SS a ring and make sure they rang and told him about the mistake. Re: Who's building with Clarendon?? 14078Apr 14, 2016 5:20 pm HI all, been lurking in the shadows for a while watching everyone's progress, thought I might share ours. We are Building in Brooks Reach Horsley (Wollongong) We have a roof and all brickwork is finished. Our build started in mid January. My wife drives out a couple of times a week to check on progress. She thought nothing was happening this week but we have had the Air Con people in running the ducting, which made her happy as we are staying at her parents house Re: Who's building with Clarendon?? 14079Apr 14, 2016 6:25 pm Our motley bricks Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ I'm not sure what they are going to do to fix it and they are ignoring our questions on resolution at the moment.
