Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Who's building with Clarendon?? 15161Jun 20, 2016 8:43 am Looking for ideas what to do with the layout of the kitchen in the Fairmont 38... Opinions please... I want 2 options from each person... 1 option if you had money to do what you want (within reason) and 1 if you were on a tight budget Include the butlers pantry in also... So where would you put things and what would you add in? Thanks in advance Re: Who's building with Clarendon?? 15162Jun 20, 2016 9:01 am tony7432 good to see most are far along in their process, we still have a ways to go. our tender date is july 1st..my worry is everything we loved in the display home is a upgraded option and everything we liked will end up racking up about $30k in upgrades and the basics will only give us enough to keep the roof from coming down lol..just first time nervousness i guess.we went with the evolution package..not to worried about stuff like taps and lights those are things i can upgrade myself for less than half the cost of the builder my wife really loved the plantation shutters but those were a very expensive upgrade and we will do those ourselves later..if anyone has done the evolution package how were your options? were their many or was it like one ugly one and one less ugly to choose from when it came to items around the house that can be chosen? we also got the 19 premium upgrades that was $4,990 they threw it in for free. Hi tony We went evo package as that was enough for us and it will be cheaper to upgrade things after handover. I just.found out spotlight and bunnings do plantation shutters so don't stress too much. We also got the summer of free which sounds similar to your upgrade package so you will in reality not be lacking for much Cheers. Re: Who's building with Clarendon?? 15163Jun 20, 2016 9:13 am Spart Do geat to hear the progress on people's houses. I've stayed away from the forums the last few weeks as we are at week 18 and still only have first floor bricks! !! Have already been advised we will go over contact date, but if we are not in by xmas I might cry/scream. Where are you up to leese??? Sorry Spart, just saw this. And sorry for my progress compared to yours ?We just finished week 16 and bricking complete and washed, raves and guttering done, scaffolding down and now just doing alfresco roof and small roof at front and a little bit of weatherboard to do above garage. Then roughing in can start. I think our SS got lucky and has 4 houses on the go in our area all at the same stage, so has trades going from one to the other and I think we are first. So frustrating for you - we are also wanting to be in by Christmas! Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Building a Modified Madison 37. Re: Who's building with Clarendon?? 15164Jun 20, 2016 10:51 am HomeTweetHome We signed up to build Sheridan 39 in Sydney in May. Had our meeting with sales consultant today to have a look at the plans and variations before tender presentation next week. Found that they had flipped the design which makes its pointless from orientation point of view. This happened in spite of clear instructions from us when we signed up. Have little faith in them getting their act together and fixing the plans, costs and variations before tender presentation next week because flipping the design changes everything. Disappointing start with Clarendon to say the least after hopeless experience with Mojo. Hi HomeTweetHome, in certain cases Clarendon has to flip the design based on how your land was configured - ours was flipped as the developer of the land had storm water etc... In our case, Clarendon did not have a choice to flip the design. Would not hurt asking Clarendon to explain why it was flipped. I found in my experience with Clarendon is that they have good intentions, they just miss to keep the customer informed. Hope all works out for you! I'm about to do our PCI and handover - quite nervous but excited as well. Clarendon has done a great job so far.... Re: Who's building with Clarendon?? 15166Jun 20, 2016 3:59 pm So still waiting on a response from Clarendon about the carpet they damaged ...and Tile Direct to do the repair work ...seriously over it ...we moved in at the end of October. ...what a joke.... You're able to make as much changes with no cost until you've signed the tender & contract. Once you have gone into construction, that's when you get hit with the admin fee. All the best! I am finding this hard to believe as my desired location was to place garage on the lower side of the lot and in the flipped design it is on the higher side. According to Clarendon the only way I can have garage on right side (lower side) is by setting the house back by 9 mtr as opposed to 4.5 mtr. Can someone suggest what questions I should ask them to clarify this? Shame they keep moving PCI.. but you are almost there!! With your shelving, does it have support bars in the corners at the front or is it just shelves ? (Does that make sense??) Just think you are better of having PCI when stuff is done instead of them rushing it and things not being complete Leese usually when externals are done. We still have the lower scaffolding on as they still need to do some external painting. I am looking forward to the day I am at that stage, we have been updated by Clarendon to tell us that the developer still will not allow them on site. So this is our first significant delay, they were suppose to have access a month ago. We need this to happen so we can get our fixed pricing completed. I noticed that you have a little rendering on the facade, did this cost a great deal. We have a corner block and our design requirements state that we need two different types of material. So it is either cladding or render. Cheers Lydds Building Boston 36 the stair balustrades?
