Re: Who's building with Clarendon?? 16882Mar 09, 2017 8:25 am Vic123 Hi All, First time posting here. Building a Bayside 36. We just finished our colour appointment on Monday. Could anyone shed some light for me regarding credit for splashback and skirting? We're looking to do these after handover. Our CSC is refusing to credit us the money and this is her response, "Unfortunately, we cannot handover a house without a splashback. You will need to pick a tile with Tile Direct for this. So we cannot credit back for splashback. Regarding the skirting, it is company policy to install the skirting whether the flooring is done through our suppliers or by the client after handover. During the build, skirting is laid on top of the slab prior to flooring. We can only handover a house that has skirting installed." Any help will be apprreciated. Hi That's not true. When I had my tile appointment tiles direct, I told them that I don't need splash back tiles as i plan on doing glass post hand over. they put "notes to builder" at the end of tiles quote stating that kitchen will not have splashback as requested by client. then I spoke to my CSC about getting some credit back First she said that I won't get any credit since it's not a lot. but I pushed it through as i was also pushing for credit in else where. I got $152 credited for the splashback. so point is, you can definitely build a house and hand over without tile splashback in the kitchen. Talk to tiles direct about this. In terms of the skirting board, I remember someone in this forum (old) had done this.I haven't done this personally, Installing skirting boards is part of plastering (before flooring). I'm doing floor boards upstairs through Clarendon (Carpet call). because I didn't like the look of timber beading on edges, they put a note to builder not to install skirting boards upstairs. i.e. once the flooring is done, carpet call will install skirting boards. however, they charged me $700 extra for this. hope this helps. The range for Evolution is so pathetic Also wondering if anyone has chosen the marble like quartz for their stone benchtops? I'm looking at stattuario or michelangelo quartz. Would love to know how much you paid and how it looks like in your house! We upgraded to Bianca Venatio & still waiting for our Kitchen guy to revert on the cost. I recently went through this as well. Doing timber upstairs and they can delay skirting until after flooring as I was advised by Clarendon that Carpet Call have their own trades to do it. As mentioned in a previous post, there is a charge for it though. I also tried to get the same done downstairs and wanted tiling to go under the skirting. Clarendon said they don't do this. Re: Who's building with Clarendon?? 16887Mar 09, 2017 8:10 pm We would like to have an oven with steam function but was quoted close to $4k for Smeg's one through Clarendon. We found one through Ikea for only $1199. Anyone managed to get away with own appliances to be done post-handover - basically spaces were provisioned and get credits back? Anyone managed to get away with own appliances to be done post-handover - basically spaces were provisioned and get credits back? during my tender, I asked my tender presenter if it's possible to get the house without an cooktop. as I wanted to put my own cooktop(Induction). he made a few phone calls on the day and said I can and get a credit for it. so yes it's possible. but I ended up getting standard include ones. But we will have to paint ourselves. That's great! Thanks for sharing this. Our CC didn't give us a straight no for an answer but told us it would be pretty hard to say to get it approved - which leave us with the question whether do you need those applicances in place for handover. Building a Oceanside 36 @ Kellyville Re: Who's building with Clarendon?? 16891Mar 10, 2017 11:59 am Hi everyone! Did anyone add a toilet-shower (called as toilet-bidet sometimes), to their WCs or toilets? I've always received a lot of confusing info from Clarendon about this. This toilet-bidet shower needs to have Sydney water i.e. no rain-water, so it has to be connected to the plumbing accordingly. But I was told by Clarendon tender team a few weeks ago that they cannot install such a thing, or can't even give me a cold water point there, apparently because this needs a big system worth $4500!!! Has anybody come across this? Is there any other way to get the toilet-bidet installed now or later? Please help! Re: Who's building with Clarendon?? 16892Mar 10, 2017 1:56 pm sherlock7 Hi everyone! In the event we scrapped the idea and asked for a quote for a bidet-equipped toilet suite instead during our Colours and waiting for the quote. Maybe I'll have to talk to a plumber. wingzee sherlock7 Hi everyone! Did anyone add a toilet-shower (called as toilet-bidet sometimes), to their WCs or toilets? Has anyone upgraded their carpet and underlay from the standard that they offer for Evolution series? I thought their standard range carpets were so-so and was keen to get one from one level up. Our externals have just been finished and I hate the colours I choose. Just want to see if anyone has done this before? And cost Clarendon charged or if possible at all?
