All you have to do is get into your car and get to your site. . No SS and no security fence. You can inform your SS about this if you like. Most SSs dont care as long as you don't come in the way of their build. Of course, you will be entering at your own risk and cannot hold the builder responsible for any injuries. Best time to visit are weekends when you dont have any tradies onsite. If you want to meet your SS, you would need to ring him and arrange for a meet onsite during the week. At this stage we do not have a security fence yet. But from what I have seen by looking at other builds, there is generally a "codded" padlock on the security fence. Which I assume they lock when they leave for the day, hence also locked on weekends? Or are people jumping the fence, or obtaining the code for the padlock... If you really want to confirm, you guys can try visiting your site after hours or even over the weekend. like I said, this will be at your own risk, but am confident you will be able to 'access' your site. Yes, coded - they are on most build sites - otherwise anyone can enter your site and injure themsleves. Also, people can & do steal supplies. Suprised yours isn't locked. I would ask for it to be locked - just in case someone enters and injures themselves. As you said though, it's your own liability if you enter & injure yourself.. Yes, you are right it's the coded padlock on temp fence by TFH. So you don't have 1? I aksed for one ages ago. A little birdie told me the code though. Hehe - I don't think it's a big secret the SS should share it with you. Re: Who's building with Clarendon?? 90Sep 21, 2011 10:05 am rjg Yes, you are right it's the coded padlock on temp fence by TFH. We are not special enough . And like I said, none of the builds around us or anywhere I have seen had a padlock. Anyway, everything before the handover is builder's responsibility. so they will take care of it if anything goes missing ( Hope not ) Cheers Re: Who's building with Clarendon?? 92Sep 25, 2011 12:39 am I have my site locked....good idea for OHS as well as not having thieves come thorough the property (more a visual deterrent than anything else!). When going through my electrical plan I moved some of my power points to different heights (standard at 300mm), moving a number of them to 1100mm, particularly where the televisions are going to go (as well as data points at that height). Ie upgrades zoning etc. Thanks Re: Who's building with Clarendon?? 97Oct 21, 2011 9:51 am commando007 Ok we are just doing our externals and I was wondering what people have done with their air conditioner. Ie upgrades zoning etc. Thanks Hi commando; we went with the internal guys; but we upgraded the controller upstairs, added another zone & added some better filter thing. Costed around $14,600 + we had to pay them $1000 or so for the better controller + filter. Depends on what house you build but if you wanted just the vents etc I think it was $5k. Great thanks, I think we will do similar. Re: Who's building with Clarendon?? 99Oct 21, 2011 11:07 am I just upgraded the unit given during negotiations. Interestingly enough, the guys are doing the rough in for the airconditioning unit today. I didn't have a vent in the laundry (which is good for the middle of winter to hang up clothes on an air dryer), so I got the intallation company to put an extra one in, rather than a variation.
