My partner and I have just had our first tender meeting and have just paid our initial $5000 to get final plans drawn up. We have decided to go with the Merriden 30 and have added an extra room and changed things around. This is our first time building and as Clarendon do not have the Merriden on display we are little worried about missing changes and regretting decisions later as it can be kind of hard to visualize. My dad is a builder so we aren't too worried about being scammed for being young and inexperienced with finishes etc, I'd just love to hear tips and recommendations from anybody who is willing to share We have made a few modifications and have upgraded to the sapphire inclusions and just want to know what necessities we should add! Thanks guys! Lisette xx If you can. Go to the colour/selections studio before you have to do your actual appointment. We went on the weekend and there is a few things to look at especially in the flooring department. We were a bit disappointed that the sapphire only gets a choice of 3 or 4 stone bench top colours. So it’s worth a look to see if you are going to be happy with the standard stuff or whether you will be upgrading which is all dollars! Oh really! 4 colours sounds crappy. Thanks for the tips, we will definitely make a trip before our colour appointment! Yeah, 2 white fleck coloured which I hate and 2 dark colours, like a mocha and another dark grey one. [/quote]There's not much cost to upgrade...yes, the colours aren't great but we made do with them in bathrooms and upgraded in kitchen Re: Who's building with Clarendon?? 17924Oct 13, 2017 4:54 pm anyone still receiving their weekly calls ? Re: Who's building with Clarendon?? 17925Oct 13, 2017 10:53 pm franknewhome anyone still receiving their weekly calls ? We never really had recurring calls in QLD. I'm not sure if this was because I was on their case for every step of the way, they had recurring calls from me then. Clarendon Denton 24 | Gold Coast Status: Internal fitout! ETA: April 2018 Re: Who's building with Clarendon?? 17926Oct 16, 2017 7:04 am Hi all, we just went to our site yesterday and noticed some water pooling at the rear of the garage indicating that it's sloped to the back and not the front. Does anyone else have this and does anyone know if this will be a problem later on? Re: Who's building with Clarendon?? 17927Oct 16, 2017 8:14 am That's not a good sign. I would take it up with your SS, I believe that it is regulation to have it sloped out of the house for obvious reasons, otherwise during every heavy storm your garage will flood. Re: Who's building with Clarendon?? 17933Oct 19, 2017 7:19 pm Need some HELP!! For those of you with more than the standard cupboards in the laundry (as in you've upgraded more than the standard 2-door cupboard) - can you tell me what your Plumbing is like??? Think ours might not be quite right, and I don't want to get upset with them if what we have is standard process or if we've wasted several hundred dollars in additional cupboards for them to cut holes all the way through them to have longer pipes/plumbing running in them all!!
