I think you'd struggle to find anyone who actually had good communication during their admin stage. I found that it would take days for them to answer an email, despite sending a response literally seconds after I received an email from them. Also if you try and call after receiving an email it just goes to voicemail. I'm sure they screen their calls. I ended up ringing from a non-listed number in order to make them pick up, which kinda worked. Construction has been pretty good for me with a few slow downs. I did check today and true to what the SS said the other day, the front door's glass has been changed to translucent, like it was supposed to be! House was completely locked up this morning so next chance for me to look around will be Wednesday. I'll take the good camera for this to get some shots. Re: Who's building with Clarendon?? 14123Apr 16, 2016 9:39 am Ok thanks. My contract appointment is on Tuesday and I still haven't received the architectural drawings. I'm 100% not signing on the day as I want to go home and have a good look at it. Re: Who's building with Clarendon?? 14124Apr 16, 2016 10:58 am KandRCH Are you getting independent inspections? I think it's a must with all the problems we've had. I thought they deliver appliances after handover? Our valuation is all done but the bank just needs the interim OC which is organised once all the certifies have approved the works. Can anyone tell me when they received theres? I'm hoping for a quick turnaround from PCI to handover but I don't want paperwork holding things up!!! We have had independent inspections at each stage and will be doing another one before final handover. Unfortunately Clarendon didn't appear to adequately action some of our frame inspection issues and they are resulting in more issues now. Re: Who's building with Clarendon?? 14126Apr 16, 2016 12:39 pm MinandB We have a handover date confirmed late last night - 13 May 2016... Black Friday! I'm not going to hold my breath though. They have said they will 'paint' our bricks and colour match the grout. We have asked for more info on this. Supposedly our air-con duct flow is acceptable. We are to be provided a report to confirm this. Still waiting on multiple little defects to be actioned. They have a month though... congraaats minandb on your handover date!!!! less than a month!! Re: Who's building with Clarendon?? 14128Apr 16, 2016 3:37 pm k3nnis Can we still change ceiling height prior to building? Ie even after signing contract. No fees? pretty sure it has to be done at contract time, otherwise they can't get your drawings done. Re: Who's building with Clarendon?? 14129Apr 16, 2016 3:37 pm k3nnis Can we still change ceiling height prior to building? Ie even after signing contract. No fees? I would change it before signing contract. You don't want to have paid 5% deposit and then get hit up for unexpected surprises! I think with 2.7 height, the window sizes and door frames need to be adjust as well. Changing from 2.4 to 2.6 doesn't need any change in window & door frames... I'm planning to not sign the contract on the appointment. And take it home and look through it carefully. If I tell them to change ceiling heights during his time will there be admin fees involved? Also it's gonna be approx $5k to change from 2.6m to 2.7m ground floor only. Is it worth it? It's a Leaton 28 with home theatre and grand alfresco option. Leaton is sort of an open plan design? Will I tell the 10cm? Thanks, K. Re: Who's building with Clarendon?? 14133Apr 16, 2016 4:47 pm <sigh> I am very much over it now. We are onto our 3rd Site supervisor, mmrrtt which started at the same time as me is up to Gyprock stage yet, my roof is still yet to be complete. Even the Site Manager is dodging me, and I now set my wife on them so, good luck in being them now. This is getting past sh$ts and giggles. These guys work on my property may once a week if I am lucky, It completely BS they are so far behind time that they should be moving tradies to my house instead of everyone else who are on time. One thing I've learnt is that the more noise you make, the more action you get!! Happy that we are almost home!! Our house is looking amazing..can't wait to get in there and set it all up. It's been a long journey but I'm sure it's all going to be worth it Our tilers worked late into the night apparently and I'm hoping our floors are finished next week. Ardem, have been really pushing our SS to give us weekly updates and I always kick up a stink if there's not much activities book. Totally beyond us why Clarendon prefers to wait until their customers are irate before they act.
