Cheers We originally were planning on doing it after handover however We upgraded to the gold underlay.. we picked the last trolley.. just one less headache to worry about after handover Hi gdmonty the gold is upgraded underlying ...we thought of upgrading but at that time it was the cost of everything was adding up so we getting the purple color I think it's nearly an year since we did colour appt so can't even remember things. . Re: Who's building with Clarendon?? 17383Jun 23, 2017 10:58 am My advice to all doing colour appts add all the things you want now because once in construction it's no no...even you want to pay the administration fees we are told no can't do anything now. .. I regret for not doing couple of things which now I thinking about but its too late and sometimes we think doing after will be cheaper but some stuff only small price difference so it's better to get it done with the builder..... We did our colour appts last at this time so it's been a while and now into building.... Re: Who's building with Clarendon?? 17384Jun 23, 2017 11:11 am Mrs RS - what are some of the things you regret not doing at Colours? I'm actually thinking of doing laundry cabinets, butler's pantry cabinets/storage, and wardrobes externally after handover. Also toying with the idea of installing the standard benchtop with Clarendon, then asking an external contractor to replace it with marble later too. If you plan to do it outside of the builder, do something that is not related to structure, otherwise, you will void your "lifetime warranty" from clarendon. Before making any decision to do it outside of Clarendon, its best for you to get quote first from Clarendon. You have your floorplan, so, use the floorplan and ask external contractor to quote it for you and then you can do the comparison after. By doing so, there will be no regret. PS: To avoid any regret, there is no harm to get the quote from them, there is nothing to be sign anyway. I love to do timber flooring but budget was an issue so went with tiles. . We wanted to upgrade all internal doors actually did it but then deleted it thinking about the cost but it was worth doing. . ..it's just little things.. I don't think so because we asked and was told no we can't ....so do it before construction whatever you want with the builder Re: Who's building with Clarendon?? 17390Jun 24, 2017 9:02 pm Mrs RS went35 Can you add some jobs (e.g.; tiling to alfresco) during construction time? But, if you want to do it through Clarendon, then talk to Clarendon and check your contract. Depend on what changes you want to make and what stage you are currently on as well as whether the material has been order or not. It is very unlikely that you can make changes, but if you can, you will need to pay the admin fee to make changes and pay the difference. Was checking out our kitchen today, it's a bit of a dog's breakfast, but I noticed that the back panel underneath the beach that is on show (i.e behind the cabinets) is a split panel so you can see the seam in the middle. I thought this would be one solid piece as the seam looks a bit stupid. Has anyone else noticed this in their kitchen? Re: Who's building with Clarendon?? 17392Jun 26, 2017 5:47 am Gambit79 Hi all. Haven't taken a pic yet. I just checked all our documentation and no where is it mentioned that it will be split. So will definitely be raising this as it looks silly. Mrs RS We have been through the same thing one job per week whereas other builders working everyday it's so frustrating.... But so far our ss has been calling every Friday even though nothing much happening. .. Well we finally have the handover of our Madison 35 on Wednesday. Yep, 2 days to go...finally. Yee ha. Such a frustrating process but in the end, all the little mistakes, problems and concerns all get fixed and everything is either to expectation or exceeds expectation. My redesigned front balcony with the arlington facade came out really well. We even put hot and cold water outlets and power point on the balcony just to be different. I hope everybody else tries to be patient and then experiences that great big weight lifting off your shoulders as you count down to handover. P.S.
