Floor looks awesome. It also looks really clean. You are lucky to have all your window coverings in before you move!! First timer - we also got the 16kW inverter. It's awesome (expect for their app which is crap) Built a Fairmont 35 in Pennant Hills. I'm curious to see what a non-white finish looks like with the tiles. Looking at the walls in my apartment here, I can see that they are painted the same colour as the rest of the apartment, but in my mind I thought it was white.. hehe.. Also, Sydney-build.. if you do go ahead with attic storage space.. can you let me know how much it end up costing you? Seems like a great idea. We just signed last week to build the Madison 37! We are excited and nervous all at the same time. I do have a question for you experienced Clarendon builders please. We have been given a USB for the colour centre which is pretty useless (in my opinion). We want to choose flooring first, but not sure whether to do tiles or laminate, but do we not get to see our options until the day?? This will affect the kitchen colour choices and bathrooms etc... i am freaking out that this is all meant to be decided in one day!! We have a Tile Direct appointment booked for 3 weeks after the colour centre. So going out for a 'see what is available to us' appointment this week (we tried yesterday, but said they couldn't tell us the range without an appointment). Please tell me it is not as stressful as I am envisioning!!! Do we do flooring and wall colours first at the appointment? ? Do they give us a quote for everything in all areas, then at the end we can decide what fits the budget? ? Any reassurance would be great! ! Thanks Congrats Leese! If you go with tiles for flooring, it will be with Tiles Direct. At the colours appt, another company does wooden/laminate/vinyl flooring & carpets. Unless you decide to do flooring after handover. Best to have an idea what you want. Bring magazine/picture clippings etc. Re: Who's building with Clarendon?? 8889Jun 28, 2015 8:50 pm Looking great Rose, do you have any pics of your bathrooms? I am getting the same tiles as you. I'd love to see some different angles! Building the Clarendon Merriden 30 (44 after Mods) @ Harrington Grove! Re: Who's building with Clarendon?? 8890Jun 28, 2015 8:52 pm light487 With our houspect package we did: slab, frames, pre-lining, waterproofing, pci. The waterproofing wasn't part of the original package but I asked if it could be included and get a discount on it too and they did it. Think it worked out at roughly $2000 for all five inclusive. We could have included waterproofing with the package. However we have already pre-paid & only decided to do the waterproofing inspection, 2 weeks before the required inspection. Re: Who's building with Clarendon?? 8891Jun 28, 2015 8:55 pm light487 Oh.. one thing I keep meaning to ask because it keeps popping into my head when I go to bed is: With the painting in the bathrooms, do they paint it the same colour as the rest of the house? Or do they paint it white like normal bathrooms are painted? I don't remember ever being asked to choose a bathroom paint colour and I'd hate it to be painted the same as the rest of our house, which is Almond Ice. http://www.taubmans.com.au/colourcentre ... almond-ice So for those with painting already done, what did they do in the bathrooms? @Nelly - I see your bathrooms are white compared to the rest of the house, which is a similar colour to mine, was that something you had to ask for? Or did they automatically paint it white? Light - Bathroom walls are most likely the same paint as the entire house. Re: Who's building with Clarendon?? 8893Jun 28, 2015 9:14 pm SB - Landscaping looks good! Who picked up, in regards to the issue on your roof trusses? Good to hear it is getting fixed. Re: Who's building with Clarendon?? 8894Jun 28, 2015 9:18 pm PennoDream how nice is it to have grass! Looks great and really finishes off the house. That is probably the most unvalued aspect of peoples build. I think everyone should budget 10% of your build on landscaping - sounds crazy, but trust me, it bloody expensive. I agree!!! Include landscaping in the budget! It was the last thing in our minds until they have been coming in for quotes! Expensive unless you are capable to do DYI! Re: Who's building with Clarendon?? 8896Jun 28, 2015 9:37 pm Actually was just thinking about the roof storage.. we have 22.5 slope roof.. so you'd have to go in 4m from the side to get 2m height. The width of our house is 8m. Haha. So probably wouldn't work for us since the useable space would likely end up being only a very small area.. having said that, it wouldn't hurt to get an expert opinion and free quote etc Paddington 29 @ Blue Horizon Estate (Lot 105, Wattleridge Crescent, North Kellyville) Our Build Progress Blog: http://light487.wordpress.com/ Re: Who's building with Clarendon?? 8898Jun 28, 2015 10:42 pm Did anyone building a double storey upgrade to a freestanding bath? I'm guessing they will hit us up with extra support costs or something if we go that way. I'm guessing they will hit us up with extra support costs or something if we go that way. We upgraded our ensuite tub to a freestanding one.. Cost bout 700. No extra support or anything. The freestanding tap that comes out of the floor on a stand was the expensive part so we decided just to leave the standard one on the wall Re: Who's building with Clarendon?? 8900Jun 29, 2015 3:51 am KLB Did anyone building a double storey upgrade to a freestanding bath? There is nothing special about these and I imagine literally every stair installer will be able to do this. 1 6688 The two 15mm holes are obviously not compliant.
