Building modified Wentworth 35 Re: Who's building with Clarendon?? 4525Feb 12, 2015 11:04 am Our brickies laid about 100-150 bricks yesterday.....very disappointing. I think they are still waiting for the timber windows to arrive and therefore are dragging it out. We will see this arvo what they did today. Probably another 50 bricks or so. In saying that, can't fault their workmanship. Also.. with regards to the smart wiring install, were you able to find out from the SS who the installer was and would you, if you wanted to, be able to add a new data point outlet by slipping some cash to the installer? I want to add a new data point to my house, directly below another (that is, on the ground floor in the room under the first floor bedroom), which would actually make it easier to install the whole house but of course... ...adding it means I have to pay the $1000 admin for or something ridiculous. I wasn't there when the sparky and data guys did their job. I also want to add a power point on a wall. I will ask the SS if the sparky is coming back before gyprock. Yeah, I know, they charge an arm and a leg for any additions. I believe upto two minor additions/alterations should be allowed without any penalty Re: Who's building with Clarendon?? 4529Feb 12, 2015 3:43 pm Re: Who's building with Clarendon?? 4530Feb 12, 2015 3:50 pm Hi everyone! Finally some pics to add. Apparently Energex is slowing down my build with a delay now of 10 days due to no power which I think had put the framing out as CSC said that frames would be delivered and started this week. My SS MV- is so lovely and has my site looking super clean. In regards to power- had to pay $3114 for a power pole and I feel that it's in an awkward spot as wanted to run driveway all the way up the front but they chose the best of a bad spot to situate it. The pics will show you the difficulty of my being able to access my site to have a cheeky look. All viewings will have to be organised with my SS as appointments unless I can have a quick look when a tradie is there- otherwise defs locked out from the start. After seeing my site today with my SS I think I was unrealistic. I could put a mini Olympic pool at the front though as due to my wanting a single storey- I have used up a fair chunk of the backyard.. But a pool at the front would obviously then negate a driveway.. Ahh decisions, decisions! Anyone here building a pool at the same time or just after? Modified Killara25 Brisbane, QLD Re: Who's building with Clarendon?? 4532Feb 12, 2015 4:06 pm wow ! Finally you can get the camera clicking. There may be ways to getting to site. I'll PM you. Out of curiousity, what are your block dimensions. It appears an irregular shape/battle axe ? How much of a backyard do you have left ? We are also building a Killara 25 (including alfresco) and have just over 3m of backyard for a 407sqm block :/ As for swimming pool in front and driveway, its been done before Re: Who's building with Clarendon?? 4533Feb 12, 2015 4:10 pm Do something like this, but with driveway on top? Or you can just do it in the backyard :p https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=B3EC8Yt4jRM Re: Who's building with Clarendon?? 4534Feb 12, 2015 4:12 pm Looks great cocobrisbane but I can see how sneaking in will be hard. We're putting in a pool but waiting till after handover, doing it before added $2000 to the cost for boarding up and fencing off!! Building modified Wentworth 35 Re: Who's building with Clarendon?? 4535Feb 12, 2015 4:27 pm Good to see your build has picked up Sydney-build. I'm not 100% sure if the blue wrap is standard but I have seen other companies like Eden Brae use a white wrap around all there single storey homes. So, yes it could be standard with Clarendon as well. Coco Brisbane, shame that you will be locked out but like Sydney-build said, there are ways around it... I will also pm you in a minute. As far as our brickies, well, not too much left. After they bricked up about 100-150 bricks yesterday, today was quite the opposite. Bricked part today is the back of the house from above laundry door to corner, then above stacker door on left and the bit in the corner and under closest window . You can see all the grey mortar which is freshly done, comparing to the dried white which is dry. My block is not a battle axe but it is irregularly shaped and hence my nightmare of trying to shape a house within my budget constraints. A Plantation Soho would have done wonders but I preferred the finishes and inclusions of Clarendon at the time. I think the block is 690sqm and I will have to go back out there next appointment to see the yard or lack there of. The slab was so blinding as it takes up so much- my SS even had his sunnies on lol. @Denot oh wow that looks so high tech (and pricey lol). @Heidi yes- going to have full trust in my SS and Clarendon that they will get everything right. And wow- 2K just for during- that is crazy. Modified Killara25 Brisbane, QLD Re: Who's building with Clarendon?? 4537Feb 12, 2015 5:15 pm justwondering1, how much did they charge you to put the second stacker door in for the alfresco? Re: Who's building with Clarendon?? 4538Feb 12, 2015 5:30 pm firsttimer05 justwondering1, how much did they charge you to put the second stacker door in for the alfresco? Nothing. In the summer of free promotion, they were including an upgrade to a stacker door in place of a window. As we already had a stacker door in the dining room as part of the original plan, we replaced the family room window with a stacker door as an free upgrade. Re: Who's building with Clarendon?? 4539Feb 12, 2015 6:40 pm Yeh.. we did a stacker on our normal sliding door.. we don't mind not having two doors to the alfresco.. it's such a small house, despite being 5 bedrooms and 3 bathrooms, that having a second door would have looked a bit odd for our build That summer of free thing was great! And I agree Sydney-build, they should allow a single, non structural alteration fee-free.. it's hard to get things perfect the first time through with only days to consider things. Why? I built with Clarendon Homes 6-7 years ago, and my balcony was starting to show some major damage from water. It would of cost me thousands $$ to fix, but as it was a builder error, these guys PAID to get it completely replaced and fixed. When a company delivers that sort of service, despite years after the build, it shows they really do care for their customers. Two thumbs up for this fine company. I would build again with them in a heartbeat. Compared to my recent build (Henley/Plantation), these guys are much better, cheaper on the upgrades, more hassle free and better after handover service. If I invented a time travel device, I would go back twelve months ago and pick Clarendon again had I known what I do now. Henley/Plantation have outstanding display homes, but that's where it ends. Sometimes you think the grass is greener on the other side but after eating it, you realize you should of never switched.
the stair balustrades? There is nothing special about these and I imagine literally every stair installer will be able to do this. 1 6978 The two 15mm holes are obviously not compliant.
