Hopefully you all get bricked soon. I guess we are lucky to get our build started before the shortage. I feel for you guys! Had a chat with SS, target PCI date is on the 24th of June. Handover is 2 weeks after: so 7th or 8th of July. Is 2 x weeks after PCI normal? Seem so long! We still got tiles, carpet, driveway & landscaping to do after handover! Re: Who's building with Clarendon?? 7843May 27, 2015 10:37 pm Cat83 our final plans are all done now. I'm so worried now that we may not have the step down. Has anyone changed it after their file has gone to construction? They might say final plans have all been approved so can't do the structural change. If you really want it changed, I am assuming they will need to get it re-submitted to council/CDC for approval. Re: Who's building with Clarendon?? 7844May 27, 2015 10:47 pm Cat83 Hi elisen, do you mind me asking how much it cost to add the step-down? The more I think about it, the more I'm leaning towards getting it. Everyone I know who has built their house has had a step-down in to their garage so I think we will get this changed. Thanks heaps! It's $500 bk84. I added it last week.
I don't think we have this, if it is not on our standard plan. It was never discussed with us so I wonder if they will add it now or if its all too late?
Yep, we paid $500 too... And our plans had already gone to CDC for approval when I asked for it to be added, they just said they would have to re-submit the plans. Didn't charge us any change fee's or anything though as I just said that I had asked for it at both contract and tender appointments and didn't know why it hadn't been added... Little white lie, but whatever.. Building modified Wentworth 33 with a detached granny flat http://nortonbuildingadventure.blogspot.com.au/ Re: Who's building with Clarendon?? 7848May 27, 2015 11:43 pm We have a battleaxe and don't have to worry about maintenance of a long driveway. Ours is also a little different as there are 3 of us at the rear and two at the front. We are all on 500sqm blocks. We have been extremely lucky as our neighbours on either side built single story homes so we have beautiful tree top views through all our second story windows. We do have a "right of way" in front of our property which allows one of our neighbours to access their home but it's no big deal. I sell real estate and its amazing how many people are now loving battleaxes. I agree with Sydney build that some people prefer a street frontage but I am finding more and more that people much prefer the privacy a battleaxe has to offer. I feel extremely secure in this property and that might have to do with the fact that I have neighbours on either side and we all get along very well - so I know they are looking out for my place and vice versa. Our yard is extremely private. I never thought I would like it to be honest, but I have changed my mind and absolutely love it. In regards to the ecowood shutters - not sure how they would scratch? Built a Fairmont 35 in Pennant Hills. Completed May 2015. http://www.pennodream.wordpress.com - Blog updated regularly Re: Who's building with Clarendon?? 7850May 28, 2015 8:35 am We didn't really have a choice exactly.. we saw the house+land package ad on realestate dot com, phoned up Clarendon expecting it to be sold already, found out it was still available and drove over that day and paid the deposit that afternoon.. all within hours of seeing the ad. We had already been looking elsewhere, so it wasn't like it was the first house+land we saw.. If it had been a battleaxe block, I still think we would have gone with it anyway as long as the price was within our budget.. We're very happy with the location, the land and the total price of the build. We're very happy with the Paddington 29 layout, size and the inclusions in our package. I do occasionally get a bit envious of others with their grand staircases, massive alfrescos and all the upgrades and additions they made but we are still very excited by what we are getting anyway. He said that they will be back on our house tomorrow, so I assume he means they started ours then went to finish off the place across the street which they were supposed to be finishing off on Tuesday and then coming back to ours.
