Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Who's building with Clarendon?? 18003Nov 08, 2017 5:12 pm k3nnis I got mine as I want it over and done with lol. Yep my landscaping costs $60k approx $30k of that in retaining walls That's a lot of retaining walls. How high we're they and for how long? (I may need to get some so looking for an estimate) Re: Who's building with Clarendon?? 18004Nov 08, 2017 5:24 pm k3nnis sherlock7 A follow up question to everyone - has anybody amended/changed their CDC landscape plans during or after house construction (before you get your final occupancy certificate)? I'm sure lot of people must be facing completely changed land levels and extra landscape requirements, before they get their final occupancy certificate... Would like to know if Clarendon needs to be involved in such process, or if it has to be done on our own with the CDC certifier? Hi Sherlock, My landscape plan was different to the one from Clarendon. And I still got my final occupational certificate. But I did run it past my certifier first though. I had s landscape designer draw one up for me as my retaining walls were quite high. Thanks, K. k3nnis - Thank you for the info. By 'running it past the certifier', did you mean you applied for amendments to the landscape plan officially (by getting it designed by landscaper) , and submitting an amendment application to CDC ? Or did you just call them and notify abt the changes? Also, would you recommend any landscape designer for this? I have to do similar things with my retaining walls Re: Who's building with Clarendon?? 18005Nov 08, 2017 5:25 pm KLB Just a heads up, there is no hurry to get your final occupancy certificate. You only really need it if you are planning to sell. We still don’t have ours a year on because we have to get retaining walls etc. certified. KLB - Thank you, good to know. I was stressing on whether there was a particular time frame for getting the final certificate. Also I got the designer as my landscaper recommended it as mine was a bit complicated. As luck would have it the back door was unlocked so I went in tonsee the progress our tiler has made on the bathrooms. We’re sooo in love with the floor to ceiling tiles in our ensuite! They look spectacular. Unfortunately however, the tiler has mixed up our tiles, and put our downstairs powder room wall tiles, on our main bathroom, and the main bathroom tiles on the downstairs powder room walls. Completely gutted, as we were on track to possibly sneak handover in just before Christmas. I’d say there is virtually no chance of this now, as the tiles will have to be redone, and I would imagine the waterproofing would also have to be redone as well. Gutted! Going to be an awkward conversation with the tiler in the morning. I feel terrible because he’s done such an amazing job getting everything lined up perfectly, and worry the 2nd job will be rushed and not to the same standard. First pic is of the ensuite. Others are powder and main bathroom. Just doesn’t look right. I hope I don't regret later Hey k3nnis how are you finding the paint job in ur home with just 2 coats? Would love to know! Building a Clarendon Ferndale MK II Nice. 2 cost paint looks fine to me. But I’m no expert. Re: Who's building with Clarendon?? 18015Nov 14, 2017 3:08 pm got an email from Clarendon this afternoon, we have a new CSC again - 3rd one whilst we've been in construction. Not sure if it's us, or it's just the burnout rate! I am so worried that this is going to happen to us, Tiler was meant to start yesterday - he hasn't showed as yet, but Tile Direct don't do pre-tile appointments anymore, apparently the Tilers are confident enough to go off the paperwork!! We're slated for pre-Christmas Hand-over, but I just can't see it happening. Are you able to talk to you SS?? Shouldn't have to fall on your shoulders to speak to the Tiler really, but it's the way I would do it (our SS would just ask me not to get involved!) Yes K3nnis Has she gone?? or have they moved us into the too hard basket?? I have sent 3 emails over the last 2weeks, so not sure if I pushed them over the edge. But she was pretty good for us. Quick responses. Before her we had HP which was hopeless lol. That was exactly us!! and I thought MK was ok too, but I haven't had a reply from her in over a week - we've now got AD, who was also our tender presenter, and her response time back then wasn't ideal, so I can only imagine. I'm just trying to get them to be alitle accountable for a couple of things - we have exposed reo in the concrete on our Alfresco, identified by our Private Inspector as concrete cancer (already because the reo has rusted!!) and there's been alittle of he was going to do that and finger pointing and no one really owning it, I've also asked for receipt of proof the Vlam Hush Glazing our windows (for noise reduction) because when I spoke to CSR they said there's no way to identify their glass from normal glass aside from a receipt or proof of order, and querying our Home Theatre door. How did you find the Tiler at your place? He was meant to start last Monday, then got moved to yesterday, and he definitely wasn't at our place today KDRB Paddington 29 Bed 1 to Rear with Home Theatre & Grand Alfresco (Paddington 31) blog: Southern Sydney Knockdown & Rebuild the stair balustrades?
