Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Who's building with Clarendon?? 16602Dec 24, 2016 10:40 am bella18 I've just noticed the wrong colour toilet suite had been installed and brand. I haven't had hand over yet. Are Clarendon obliged to change all toilets? I've check the Colour Studio paper work and it's confirmed. If they got it wrong they will fix it. Also the cupboards to polythene (the better quality ) And same for bathroom Thanks everyone !! Merry Christmas to all Hi it's really hard to put a price on upgrades with kitchens. Everyone will be different. Someone's who's done a complete kitchen Reno in my old house, these kitchen upgrade prices are ridiculously overpriced!!! Having said that I increased my bench top width and length. Which I paid extra for separately. Then to upgrade from builders range to Luna white bench top. That was an $600 extra. To change from melamine to polythene, just under $5k. It's a ripoff but I like polythene look. Hope that helps Visit my blog Clarendon Bronte 25 Re: Who's building with Clarendon?? 16607Jan 04, 2017 4:34 pm Our land finally settled today... woo hoo!! Plans are in council. So now we wait.. again Re: Who's building with Clarendon?? 16608Jan 04, 2017 8:25 pm adamsmithers55 This forum has been a wealth of knowledge for us too. We're building in the Hurstville area and our slope is the same...except front to back! Site costs also added up quickly for us as we needed charged pipes and stormwater detention. Good luck on your journey [/quote] Adam - nice to see another 'local' on the forum - we're also in the Hurstville area, and have not seen anyone else post from the area! Have felt alittle left out The only other Clarendon build we've seen in the area is a double storey on Willison Road over in Bexley. We're a knockdown-rebuild, and all the little hidden extras have bummed us alittle but we're looking forward to eveyrthing cranking back up when Clarendon come back from their Xmas break. Perhaps the construction guys took a shorter break than the office guys? Can't wait for the Color Studio to re-open - we'll be signing our building contract in early Feb. Such a loooooong wait since we signed our tender in early Dec. Re: Who's building with Clarendon?? 16615Jan 11, 2017 2:54 pm amiarm Anyone attended tender appointment in Clarendon Sydney office recently? How to prepare for tender appointment? Any tips. Hi amiarm, we signed up for tender appointment too, booked in for Feb 17th. My simple thought process as follows: - Prepare with any requested "final" design plans/anything that you want priced up. We want to make additional tweaks to the design and it should still be ok for CDC/DA approval. - Be prepared to negotiate as much as you can with the tender presenter. I am sure that they have sign off to do this so do your best! - DO NOT sign the tender on the day! There is a period of 7-10 days (I think?) until you have to sign. This will give you more leverage too as they will probably work harder to get you a better deal. From all of the above, we are in talks with another builder and may pay their deposit too so really want to get the best deal we can get. Re: Who's building with Clarendon?? 16617Jan 12, 2017 5:00 pm Hey, Currently starting the very long process of deciding what/who to build with. I really just want to ask is there a really bad range of standard tiles, carpet, paint etc? Im just worried that once we get to this stage our original tender price will go out the window due to builders ranges being rubbish? Im sure this question has come up before but appreciate any help finding out. Thanx Re: Who's building with Clarendon?? 16618Jan 12, 2017 5:06 pm pholly Hey, Currently starting the very long process of deciding what/who to build with. We actually stuck with the basic tiles as we found one that we absolutely loved and therefore didn't look into upgrading...the colours of basic carpet are good but the quality is pretty average so we decided to upgrade to save us down the track...they don't give you much back to do your own carpet - it was basically 3k total for upstairs and downstairs so wasn't worth it. Basic paint is only 2 coats from a selected range - tinted undercoat and then 1 of colour so you can upgrade to 3 coats in any colour for $1.5k. My suggestion is to try and visit the suppliers before you sign so you know what you're in for - we visited Tiles Direct before signing the tender and it gave us a great insight. Carpet looks good but feels pretty yuk under your feet. We got carpet done by another company after handover. Hi Spart. Did you upgrade the carpet or underlay at all? We've upgrade the underlay three levels and went to silver level carpet. the stair balustrades? There is nothing special about these and I imagine literally every stair installer will be able to do this. 1 6850 The two 15mm holes are obviously not compliant.
