We started mid March ...the weather at the start delayed us but once that passed they were consistent in getting stuff done...was a good experience (tiles were the only issue and they resolved it quickly ) Re: Who's building with Clarendon?? 11547Oct 15, 2015 8:14 pm kimisstressed mccjus80 PCI tomorrow..hand over 22nd October. ..after a almost faultless build we are at the end..any issues we have had Clarendon have rectified ...our ss has been great..so looking forward to moving in soon.... Ours are the same but we thought they were a bit low? Hope more work has happened on your house this week. Building the Fairmont 38 with upgrades @ Castle Hill NSW Re: Who's building with Clarendon?? 11552Oct 16, 2015 8:47 am Hi KandRCH, our lights seem to be in a good position, I think they are pretty much halfway up the pillars. Here's a pic to show you Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ In regards to progress there really wasn't any this week. Last week SC told my husband a really long list of things that were going to happen this week....... And then nothing! We called the construction manager again, he said there wasn't really anything booked in this week! He said he would also go out to the house and have a look today especially since we told him that the eaves are not finished. We are supposed to have handover in 4 weeks, we have already gone past our initial handover which was late September. I really regret building with them, I'm so sad and fed up today. I could have built any house that I wanted to yet I chose them. I will never build with them again and I'll never recommend them to anyone! I'm so sick of looking at the house, maybe I'll just sell it when it's finished. (Most people will never be in the position we are to be able to afford to build their own house, little lone own one) It was never going to be easy! Do yourself a favour and go have a read of the Masterton thread! They are all having nightmares! Clarendon have been amazing for me so far! I think it depends on your SS, we are 12 weeks in and already at lock up, only have internal painting and carpentry/plumbing/electrical fitoffs to do!! Its really the luck of the draw! Don't give up now! Your home will be lovely once finished! You love your street and neighbours too much to sell up! We all have bad days and i dont think any other builders would have us in a better position! I am very happy with Clarendons workmanship and i would definitely recommend them! I hope you have a more positive day tomorrow! xxx Building the Clarendon Merriden 30 (44 after Mods) @ Harrington Grove! I wonder if part of the problematic experience is building in the suburbs (knock-down rebuild???) Vs building in a new estate, where the builder may have a number of homes on the go, and has builders in the area. either way, no excuse really. Re: Who's building with Clarendon?? 11555Oct 16, 2015 9:54 am I think that's exactly the reason for the lack of progress. The other week I asked the painter for his card and he said it was too far to come back and that I should get a local painter. My husband just spoke to our SS and he said the painters would be finished this week, my husband said what painters? No ones there again today and there's been no painting all week! Crazy. And when he mentioned our handover date of Nov 19th the SS said where did you get that date from? So now I'm thinking the date the CSC gave my husband that is in the system isn't going to happen at all. Do you know what - I completely agree that the new estate builds go up a hell of a lot faster than the knock down rebuilds!! We haven't been going for as long as you Fiona, but our site start date was the 15th of June, and we still don't even have a roof... Let alone anything done inside! Re: Who's building with Clarendon?? 11558Oct 16, 2015 11:33 am Fiona_in_Av They sure can take a while getting those roofs on! Our slab was poured in late Feb/March and our roof wasn't completed until June and the garage roof in August! Our upstairs flooring needs sanding too due to a the rain that sat on it for so long, it has swelling on the joins. They still have to do that before they lay the floorboards. I'm sorry to be so negative on here, but it's a completely different experience doing a knock down rebuild in an existing area over the other side of Sydney away from where all the builders mostly work. So when I say I wouldn't recommend them, I wouldn't recommend them to anyone in my area. It is good to know what to look out for Fiona. Whilst I'm not at the build process yet, I dislike how long the process takes and the total lack of communication leading up to construction. Re: Who's building with Clarendon?? 11560Oct 16, 2015 11:55 am You know what I find so sad about this whole situation, I actually had a really good experience getting to the construction stage. I couldn't speak more highly of my tender presenter Joe Cruz, Terri in the design studio was fantastic and Lidia Milostic was just amazing! Nothing was too hard for her. I even spoke directly to the guy that submitted my plans to council he was awesome and incredibly helpful, especially since it was a knockdown and we had Pittwater Council to deal with. The slab and frame stage also ran really smoothly. I think we all have different stages where it's incredibly frustrating, I'm just really tired at the lack of progress now. We have only had a couple of things happen in the last few weeks, at this rate I can't see us getting in before Christmas. It is Genneral stairs, but they won't deal with anyone off the street. They will only work with clients of project home builders. I tried to but some of these exact… 3 8046 The two 15mm holes are obviously not compliant. The Dept of Fair Trading would love to see this one! Do the gutters pool water after it stops raining? Although it's… 4 8388 I do enjoy the drama:-D In his latest two videos he has started bringing security guards to site, I am waiting for the punch on to begin lol 6 46342 |
