We did request for taller bifolds and apparently needed two as the wall was too wide for just one so we have this little column separating them. Wasn't happy about it but was told nothing can be done. Did anyone manage to get longer bifolds? Door measurements: 2400x4550 and a 2400x2290 Have not got the newest plans yet from Clarendon but heres an older one for reference. Yet again I had a completely different idea in my head as to how it was going to look. So what the reality is is that we will have a dark charcoal time on floor in matte finish, then a white gloss tile with charcoal veins on walls with the same charcoal tile but in gloss finish on the back of the niche only. After speaking with the consultant I remembered why we did that and so on. It was almost a year ago now and so our memories of the selections we made have drifted over time. Just got a PM from one of the existing residents at our estate saying that they already have machines on our land clearing the top soil. They only handed it over to construction team yesterday. I still haven't even had a call/email from the new CSC.. If I've not received a call/email by this time tomorrow, I will call them myself. I'm not sure but I do remember asking the kitchen people at Clarendon colour studio if the panel comes in one piece... or maybe I asked if the stone benchtop will be one piece ...cant remember. And they had said yes ! And they had said yes ! Hey Sydney-build, Are you referring to the outside panel where the bar stools go? Ours is in 2 pieces. In relation to your benchtop, ours is in 2 pieces as it's 3.6mtrs long. Unfortunately, this is not the fault of Clarendon. Stone tops get manufactured to a maximum length of 3 mtrs long as they become more fragile over this length. Anything over 3mtrs needs to be in 2 or more pieces. So, check your island bench length and you will get an answer straight away. Re: Who's building with Clarendon?? 5350Mar 19, 2015 1:19 pm Hi all. For anyone in the building process at the moment, did you get independent inspections at each stage of construction? On the Clarendon form it says they do an inspection by the "appropriate authority". What does that even mean? $395 Fixed Priced Landscape Plans for DA M: 0435 127 244 | W: bluegumdesign.com.au | E: info@bluegumdesign.com.au Residential | Commercial | Industrial Re: Who's building with Clarendon?? 5351Mar 19, 2015 1:21 pm Brahma Bull Hi all. Don't rely on CDC inspections though. Get an independent inspector to do it for you .... As for the benchtop ours is 2.7 m long. So I guess that will be one piece ! Re: Who's building with Clarendon?? 5354Mar 19, 2015 1:35 pm Yes, CDC will rubber stamp inspect all the critical stages to protect Clarendon, your lender will likely carry out their own inspection prior to each progress payment to protect themselves, so to protect yourself get your own independent inspection done. We are getting 5 stages inspected for approximately $2000 Paddington 29 @ Blue Horizon Estate (Lot 105, Wattleridge Crescent, North Kellyville) Our Build Progress Blog: http://light487.wordpress.com/ Re: Who's building with Clarendon?? 5356Mar 19, 2015 1:40 pm denot light487 ...We are getting 5 stages inspected for approximately $2000 Is it worth it if we only do 1 independent inspection at PCI? Depends on what you consider worth it.. Of course any inspection is better than none but once the walls are covered, they can't inspect the frame and so on. We are doing: slab, frame, prelining, waterproof, and pre handover Re: Who's building with Clarendon?? 5357Mar 19, 2015 1:46 pm @denot At least do two One before the Gyprock goes on, and other at PCI. That's what we are doing. In fact that's what our inspector does anyway. For slab, he said I should ask for structural engineers report from Clarendon. Will do that once build completed. Of course any inspection is better than none but once the walls are covered, they can't inspect the frame and so on. We are doing: slab, frame, prelining, waterproof, and pre handover but from what I heard... independent will check it up to "good" standard, while clarendon will do it up to "minimum" standard. So I heard that even though some things listed by the independent, not all will be fixed by clarendon. Is this correct? Re: Who's building with Clarendon?? 5359Mar 19, 2015 2:12 pm That's my understanding as well. However, inspectors employed by the builder have been known to "accidentally" miss things. It's to do with piece of mind more than anything for us. Knowing that there is a second or third set of eyes who has my best interests in mind, makes a big difference to me. ---------------- A minor setback from our lender, CBA, who has decided to not accept the CDC certification and CDC stamped plans as proof that we are allowed to build. CBA have been nothing but trouble makers through the process. I've sent Clarendon an email to see what can be done to move forward. EDIT: Decided to call Hills Shire Council and they have confirmed that the CDC certificate plus the plans showing the certificate number are proof. The council will never send us a letter of approval or stamped plans because that's how it's done these days when you go through CDC. So now I (well my broker really) have to somehow teach CBA about CDC's.... wtf?! Re: Who's building with Clarendon?? 5360Mar 19, 2015 3:07 pm So CDC do an inspection.....and Clarendon hire someone to do an inspection...and yet people still get 5 independent inspections of their own along the way? Is it really that necessary do you think? Is the inspections done by CDC not independent enough? Light487 - That is totally and utterly ridiculous. You should get your broker to escalate that big time. There is clearly someone there in CBA that don't know their job. $395 Fixed Priced Landscape Plans for DA M: 0435 127 244 | W: bluegumdesign.com.au | E: info@bluegumdesign.com.au Residential | Commercial | Industrial the stair balustrades?
