Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Who's building with Clarendon?? 2572Oct 16, 2014 11:17 am Hi Heidi, Hopefully they can sort this out asap. Maybe you can ask for an extra something special due to the inconvenience and headache its caused! i'm sure they will have some goodwill gesture regarding the inconvenience ontop of getting it fixed and sorted. Heidimikew @rmjose18 - I have and they have no explanation. I actually just got a call from Clarendon again apologizing for drafting and our plans are being done now. Every time I look, there are more mistakes. They've down graded us from stone (sapphire) to laminate bench tops!! I understand people make mistakes but this is more than one and it would have been nice to be told about all of this 5 weeks ago when I complained when we were signing the contract. Oh well I'm taking a deep breath and looking onward for this frustrating journey ahead! Re: Who's building with Clarendon?? 2573Oct 16, 2014 11:54 am [quote="dotgif"]@Wearemoving - ahh, sorry my misunderstanding. Thought you had meant the CDC plans had no splashback window, but is there in the actual build without your consent. Thanks for setting me straight re: post handover activities - well, 90day maintenance has come and gone, no major structural issue - though we did have a broken roof tile which was causing a leak to come through the fascia above the front porch area whenever it rained - very glad this was an easy fix (glad I also retained the extra roof tiles they left us). There are still a handful of outstanding but minor items to be addressed but the principle is I paid for them and haven't got them ... coming up to almost 6 months after handover, but am concerned there's been no action despite regular requests for updates. @DG85 - sorry, I don't have a blog - but I did post a collection of photos much earlier on in this and another thread, at: Ur house looks lovely! Did u use Ageless for ur internal wall paint? Looks awesome! I picked that. U have the same roller blinds we are getting. Tell me , do they make the bedrooms dark at night? U have the same roller blinds we are getting. Tell me , do they make the bedrooms dark at night? Thank you for the compliment, DG85 Yes, we did indeed use Ageless for our internal walls - we're very happy with our choice. With our double-roller blinds, my daughter says it's too dark at night - so yes, it does a very good job there (though you may see a slight bleeding of light where it penetrates around the edge of the blinds). Just checking, you chose the one with a sunblock material on the rear side of the material, right? Built Wentworth 33 with Clarendon Homes Re: Who's building with Clarendon?? 2575Oct 16, 2014 1:32 pm Heidimikew I am loosing the plot Just got an apology from Clarendon via email stating they are sorry for drawing up the wrong plans. We have been put in number one priority by the operations manager, but they can't do anything about the council taking another 4-6 weeks. I hope you can see the plans I've uploaded but they've placed the A/C unit right outside the theater and made the window no longer centred. We have also removed the wall of the stairs in the meals area and added balustrade, which needed to be fixed in the final plans. Also the laundry cabinets weren't drawn in and the kitchen island was shortened for god knows what reason. We never asked for that to be done. Then bed 3 window was off centre as well. These are things that changed after we had approved everything!! We are building in Southern Qld. I just hope this now moves along with no more problems I can empathise with you! Our plans were with council for nearly 8 weeks after the incorrect ones were submitted initially then the correct ones! Hmmm, we were also told we were number one priority for the operations manager! Must have the same CSC?! But we were told this over 3 weeks ago...and we are still waiting on our final drawings from drafting. Must be a few 'number one priority' customers! Re: Who's building with Clarendon?? 2576Oct 16, 2014 1:45 pm DG85 For those of you doing Knock Down rebuild which demolition company did you use. My CSC said clarendon recommend State demo - but I've heard mixed reviews about them HI, we are just going through with them now. They are very hard to deal with. To start with, you can only talk to the office girls and cannot get to others who really will do the job. Questions like segment You can not move anything out of your house once you accept the quote. It is like the house it is theirs. We moved the front windows by our self because it can remind us part of good life and our old house. They charged us extra $2500. We got a free stand bar in the garage and would like to keep it and told them to leave it anywhere which it is out their way. They said they can not. You go ahead with them because Masterton reaccommodate them. We trusted them only because of this. It is very bad mistake. $3900 deposit Oct 2013 5% April 14 Council submission May 14 DA Aug 14 CC Oct 14 Demo Oct 2014 Dec 2014 Slab 15 Sep 2015, roof tiles finished 16 Feb 16 keys Re: Who's building with Clarendon?? 2578Oct 16, 2014 2:45 pm Dotgif - yes it has the sun shade roller then the block out. What colour did u get? I was nervous they wouldn't make the room dark so that's good to know. Is the ageles paint like a subtle beige colour once applied? So hard to judge by the little colour pics they give u Re: Who's building with Clarendon?? 2580Oct 16, 2014 4:10 pm @LauraKG - Oh no I don't want to hear that, 8 weeks is crazy! Well we're in our 5th week and I know they are working on it at the moment because they've called the contacts for the sink I want (they don't supply the one I want). They've also contacted the sales team regarding window placement. I really don't know why they can't follow the plan that we signed off on. Why move the window and question why it was moved when they did it themselves!!! I think it must have been a Friday afternoon that our plans were drawn and the draftsman was drunk! At least we're both number one's!!! Have your final plans gone to council now and were they correct the 2nd time round? As far as our window being moved to look better is not the case, it was nice and centred from the outside and moving it looks awful! Which they agree with Go figure..... Anyway I guess it's all part of the process, I'm over being angry and concentrating on the fun parts, I just hope it all gets moving, especially for those of us that have been camped out at council!!! Building modified Wentworth 35 the stair balustrades? There is nothing special about these and I imagine literally every stair installer will be able to do this. 1 6916 The two 15mm holes are obviously not compliant. The Dept of Fair Trading would love to see this one! Do the gutters pool water after it stops raining? Although it's… 4 8053 |
