Browse Forums Building A New House 1 May 25, 2011 11:42 pm Hi, My husband and i are about to start building The Merlot - with Masterton Homes. We intend to document the full progress of our build from contract stages right through the building process until we finally get our keys. I will be blogging the entire process including all our experiences along the way - you can visit my blog at kzsblogspot.blogspot.com for all the details. I'll try to include as much information along the way as possible to help those who are also considering building with Masterton. If you have any questions regarding our experiences with Masterton or about our contract/building process please ask them in this thread, or leave posts on my blog and i'll do my best to reply asap. We are about to be submitting our plans to council - so thats where we are at now....i will update my blog soon to show time frames and events up until now, then i'll hopefully keep it up-to-date along the way. - Keep checking it regularly for updates as i am currently setting it up so lots of new info will be constantly added. I hope many of you who are either building with Masterton or considering building with Masterton will find my blog insightful, informative and helpful. Best wishes with any of your building endeavours Re: Building with Masterton Homes 2Dec 18, 2011 7:48 pm Hi monkeyzee! Just came across your post and was very interested to see how you are going. We are building the Masterton Clovelly which is very similar to the Merlot but split. We visited the Merlot many a time to get an idea of the Clovelly as Masteron dont have one on display. We are going comply and develop and are waiting for our plans to be drawn up. We submitted our changes 2 weeks ago how long does it normally take to get them back? PS tried to look up your blog but couldnt get on. It might take you a while but there is a lot of useful information to be gained. http://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=22483 Thanks squashedrex, I have started reading all 120 pages worth of posts. There is some great information and comments there so far, certainly an excellent resource. I must admit I am a little bit more hesitant now based on some peoples experiences. Some people can’t really fault Masterton on their build experience and others had a less than desirable experience..... I guess it just the gamble you take... Re: Building with Masterton Homes 6Jan 29, 2012 1:20 pm We were very negative on building after reading it as well, in the end we took the leap. Unfortunately I think whoever you choose will end up causing you stress and problems. Its just a matter of doing your research and picking the one that will keep them to a minimum. I cant say our experience with Masterton has been bad, actually overall its been quite good and I'll say that's mostly due to our awesome Sales Consultant. Council approval was by far our worst experience to date. In saying that though we are still don't have a CC, hopefully in the next few weeks though. It could all go downhill in the construction phase. Good luck, if you choose M keep us posted in the main thread, good or bad it makes the resource that much more valuable. Re: Building with Masterton Homes 7Mar 29, 2012 8:52 am We are building the Santorini MK2 with Masterton, and so far it has been good. I too read hours and hours, pages and pages of this forum and gained a lot of info. In turn I too have created a blog and intend to update and provide my experience to new home builders. We are now in the 2-3 weeks wait period for our plans to be drawn. 4 16547 Ask for references and speak to them.
