Browse Forums Building A New House 1 May 22, 2011 6:50 pm Im in the very early stages of planning a build and I was hoping someone could help me out with cost of extras and upgrades when building with various SA builders. For example what is the cost for upgrade insulation, upgraded kitchen cabinets, stainless steel appliences, different windows and doors, extra power points, extra doors etc. Any info would be greatly appreciated. Re: Cost of upgrades/extras - SA Builders 2Jun 03, 2011 12:54 am From what i have been told by others (we have not been to selections so only have half of the costs for our upgrades) but a few have said around the $20,000 and i think thats what we will budget on for now. We had 41 panels so that’s $615 Corinthian PMAD 104 front door $450 http://www.corinthian.com.au/Product/Show_77.aspx Cambridge internal doors (like in Monaco display home) $67 per door Extra power points – doubles $56, singles $42 We spent about an extra $10K after signing. We had tried to include as many things we could think of prior to signing such as stone benchtops, glass splashback, etc. but there was still things we missed and it's amazing how it all adds up. I suggest you ask the builder whether you can view the selection centre prior to signing. We visited the Fairmont selections room at Direct Interiors prior to signing and that gave us a better idea of what we'd be needing to upgrade. We also added pot drawers as none were included. Cost $360 for a set of 3 800mm wide. And sound insulation to internal walls $546 (78sqm). Look at your bill from the electricity company. It should detail the charges. You will need to do some estimating and some calculations. Then charge the… 8 4194 Site works are just about to start on our build with Blueprint in Midvale. viewtopic.php?f=31&t=106894 2 3898 Hi all, We are looking to build a new two storey house in western Sydney.
