Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Jan 11, 2008 4:19 pm Hi everyone,
We are new to this forum and we love the diverse range of ideas and experiences of members. We are building a house in Sandhurst Golf Club in Melbourne S.E. After nine months of frustrations and delays by the builder, we are hoping to have the slab down late January. We hope to share our experiences on this forum. braveheart Re: building dream house 2Jan 11, 2008 4:40 pm Welcome braveheart!
Are you or your partner golfers? My hubby & I are mad on golf and are building our home at Stonecutters Ridge (a new golf course being built in Sydney by Greg Norman) Did you have any special requirements because your home faces the golf course? Can't wait to find out more Re: building dream house 3Jan 12, 2008 6:09 pm Hi stonecutter,
Thanks for your response. Although we do not play much golf (but have intentions of taking up golf in the near future), we fell in love with the beauty of the Sandhurst Estate and decided to be part of it. There are a few conditions that we have to comply with for the golf/waterfront houses - all garage doors have to be lighter or neutral colours, all houses have same colour roof (charcoal or Ebony), only certain bricks allowed and external colours to complement houses in the Estate. Other than that they are flexible. braveheart Re: building dream house 5Jan 20, 2008 6:34 am Hey Hennig
They haven't finalised it - but we will get at least 1 membership, hopefully 2 (or a family membership) to the golf club - which I think will include access to gym, swimming pool etc. After 4 years - we're in! Re: building dream house 8Jan 20, 2008 4:17 pm We live up the road from Brookwater ( a Greg Norman estate) you don't get free membership, you pay for membership on your rates at a reduced rate, I think from memory it's $7000 instead of $12 for 12 months.
My friends live on Hope Island on the Gold Coast and they don't get free membership and their rates are huge. Good thing is coming back from the pub you can always be guarenteed a ride on a golf cart!! Re: building dream house 9Apr 06, 2008 8:55 pm we are building in brookwater no golf membership unless you pay big $$ and you arent even allowed to walk along the course. I believe we are allowed access to the new gym, tennis courts & pool though but rates are high. Hi All It has been a few weeks since my last update. The build has been progressing well.
