Browse Forums Building A New House 1 May 16, 2011 11:39 pm Greetings earthlings I am engaged in a battle with my CSC regarding Recycled Water plumbing since December when I signed my contract. I signed the Prelim Quote in August which clearly read "Provide separate meter and plumbing for connection of 2 toilet taps and 2 external taps to estate recycled water" For some reason, some smart a$$ in drafting decided to get rid of this and exclude this from the contract. I have been asking my CSC to get this back in contract and I gave them the MCP documents from the developer which clearly mentioned this requirement. Now, after more than 5 months of battle, they have included this as a Post contract variation. The problem is the variation now reads "Provide separate meter and plumbing for connection of 2 toilet taps and 3 external taps to estate recycled water( 2 attached to house and 1 next to meter) and Delete 1 standard garden tap to house". They have now charged me $460 extra from what it was in the original quote for this. I am going to ring my CSC tomorrow, but thought I would run this past the experts here to get some comments to build my case for tomorrow. What do you think guys? Is this justified? Do I really need 3 taps? Thanks all Cheers Re: Recycled Water Plumbing - CSC driving me crazy !!!! 2May 17, 2011 5:39 am If you signed the contract as drafted its going to be harder to argue your case but you should give it a go anyway. As far as garden taps are concerned if you have a reasonable amount of garden I would have at least the three taps. Thats what I have got and I wish I had at least one more. Re: Recycled Water Plumbing issue !!!! 3May 17, 2011 10:07 am thanks bashworth. well, my house hasnt been built yet, havent got any landscaping done by builder and with 6m at the back, there's not much room for a big garden. So I am sure I wouldnt need 3 taps. There was 1 tap included as a part of standard plan, but for some reason they have now deleted it. I had 28m2 of engineered pavers laid six months back and it was difficult to find someone not taking the pi$$. Internet suggested it should be $85-100/m2 to lay them.… 3 12399 Building Standards; Getting It Right! Hi all, My neighbour has built his 15m long garage on our boundary.
