Browse Forums Building A New House Re: BUILDING IN JORDAN SPRINGS 142Mar 23, 2012 9:55 am I back on to Landsborough (Houston st) and there's alot of activity in that street now. No.10 should be finished in the next couple of weeks, No.12's slab is down, No.14 reckons they will start in about 4 weeks. So it's all happening - busy little street. Some very nice homes going in too. Houston street has got 5 moved in already and two more very shortly. Starting to feel like home. What No. in Landsborough are you building at? normette Building a Firstyle, Oran 30 aka THE BIG 'O' Re: BUILDING IN JORDAN SPRINGS 143Mar 23, 2012 10:05 am My framing stage nearly complete. Have not seen much activity going on at Telmish's house, though looks like theirs could be completed in the next month or so. Also one more Elderton slab laid this week at Bonney cct. Great to see the weather holding up good for a change... Re: BUILDING IN JORDAN SPRINGS 144Apr 06, 2012 3:48 pm Hi Jordanspringsfamily It is a bit disappointing that there are so many houses with the same facade! But they should be all different colours (hopefully!!!) It will all be gorgeous in the end. We have had major issues though, wrong kitchen cabinets, poor brickwork, to name a couple! Enough ranting! On a lighter note, it seems that the house will be finished in about 6 weeks or so! can't wait to see the finshed result. The whole suburb is really coming together and looking fab!! Hope to meet you all soon Re: BUILDING IN JORDAN SPRINGS 146Apr 07, 2012 11:19 am Gyprock done. Anyone have any idea how long it usually takes from this stage to handover? Our building supervisor is being a bit cagey, suspect he doesn't wanna give a rough date incase there's any delays. Re: BUILDING IN JORDAN SPRINGS 148Apr 19, 2012 10:49 am Hope everyone is well My site (1191) got cut and filled yesterday. Supposed to be putting the slab down early next week hopefully! I am getting concerned about the floorboards on the firstfloor. I think that the rains will get into them and damage it. Does anyone has more info on how strong these floor boards and how long can they withstand the external elements. Did anyone had any issues with the rains and the floorboards. Feel like the brickies are constructing the great wall of china and its taking in much longer than the 10 days said to me by my SS. Re: BUILDING IN JORDAN SPRINGS 150Apr 24, 2012 6:18 pm Hey Mashp, Oh dear thats not good abut your brickies... however we are still having trouble with them too. Your SS called me and was very helpful in theory, but then did nothing about them! Are the floor boards you have at present temporary ones or the actual real deal??? If so they would be (one would have thought) specially treated to withstand the weather. Lets hope there is not too many more rainy days and that construction can speed up. We are visiting the site tomorrow mid morning to check on the "wetland" area by the garage as we hope to have the concrete base laid for our pavers ASAP, but unfortunately the area just doesn't seem to want to dry out, I think there is running water from somewhere flowing onto that area. But we'll see and have a good look tomorrow! Hope you are well X Re: BUILDING IN JORDAN SPRINGS 151Apr 27, 2012 1:20 pm I have often wondered why they don't finish the roof first to sheild the inside of the house from rain? I hope you guys get your bricks sorted asap. Fingers crossed, looks like we have a spell of good weather for a while. On another note, my slab was poured yesterday, so hoping things keep moving as fast as it has been so far! Yeah the weather looks beautiful for the coming week also. Hope, my brickies do something worthwhile rather than having a go at my neighbours. My SS informed me that, they had to attend something very urgent and my job suffered. Fair enough, but he should have updated me about that. Expecting the weather to hold up till my bricks are on the frames. Re: BUILDING IN JORDAN SPRINGS 154Apr 29, 2012 12:24 pm That's terrible to hear Denise, have you expressed this with Peter? I'm a first home builder but I challenged everything and worked with them and things came back good for me. Not sure why I've had better luck then some. Saying that my brick stage is going a bit slow, but I'm being assured I'll still hit my contract end date. Did a drive by this morning and saw the brickies working on my house today, which is cool considering it's Saturday. Looks like they'll have the bricks finished in no time! Going with Duke's Landscapes, highly recommended. http://www.dukeslandscapes.com.au/ Re: BUILDING IN JORDAN SPRINGS 158May 30, 2012 10:54 pm Building with elderton was so worried about there brickwork after I heard someone wasn't happy with there's, we just reach brickwork and I couldn't be more happier we went flush finish and it looks so neat very happy let's hope all there work is high standard. Re: BUILDING IN JORDAN SPRINGS 159May 31, 2012 9:23 am With the $ 2000 landscape bouns what happens there do they just drop the plants off and u put them in your self? Re: BUILDING IN JORDAN SPRINGS 160May 31, 2012 4:50 pm The arrangements a couple of months back were this - go to Flower Power at Northern Rd, Sth Penrith. Speak to Bethany or Dave and tell them you are a Jordan Springs person. Give them a copy of your landscape plan which you got drawn up earlier. They'll match the plants as closely as possible (if there is something on your list that they don't have they'll suggest an alternative), then they deliver at no cost. It's up to you to roll up your sleeves and plant them or pay a landscaper. PS - we had several people in our street plant Summer Beauty corymbia and the trees all died. Don't know if they died because of the very wet conditions a couple of months ago or they don't like the clay. Ask about them at the nursery. Probably best to confirm with Rebecca Minney beforehand. normette Building a Firstyle, Oran 30 aka THE BIG 'O' go upvc window frames ensure insulation under colorbond. not just sarking, lighter color roof also not sure if you have seen this viewtopic.php?t=5823 last couple of pages… 4 110560 Even if it's not being sub-divided and you want to keep it as Torrens title, you will still need to talk to a town planner or Council themselves, to see if they will allow… 1 11035 |
