Browse Forums Building A New House Re: BUILDING IN JORDAN SPRINGS 121Feb 16, 2012 11:15 pm We also had rubbish dumped on our lot but it was all cleaned up, not good for you as your ready to lay your slab. loving the sunny weather its good for the builders to get some full days in without the rain. waiting for the coucil approvel how long did it take you from when they got sent away?? Re: BUILDING IN JORDAN SPRINGS 122Feb 17, 2012 6:51 am Hi Mine took exactly 3 weeks for the council approval. The roubles dumped on my lot was utilised to the level area around my driveway during the excavation. I do have a feeling that my builder may have put them there in the fist place to do this. Anyway I am not complaining coz as soon as I contact them and asked them about it, they said they will take care of it. But the best response was from Delfin where one of the sales executive adviced me to erect a fence around the Lot. For me it would have been not of an issue as my construction would take place soon, but imagine the plight of people who bought the land from Delfin and their plans are still on the drawing board. Then the correct procedure was also outlined by another Delfin spokesman who adviced me to contact Penrith council as they need to take care of these things. Re: BUILDING IN JORDAN SPRINGS 123Feb 17, 2012 8:01 am ok we didnt go thur council, we are waiting on complying development approvel which can take up to 10 working days much faster, im going to keep track on the council website to see when its been approved. Re: BUILDING IN JORDAN SPRINGS 124Feb 17, 2012 9:14 am I am also building in Jordan Springs and the council actually lost my DA for 3 weeks. They 'found it' after a couple of calls from my builder. After this, it took them about another 4 weeks to give me approval. The dumping of rubbish really sucks! Lazy buggers! Re: BUILDING IN JORDAN SPRINGS 129Mar 01, 2012 11:11 am Removed the soil from my lot today. I thought they could have used the soil to level the land but as it was on my neighbours property, I removed it. If anyone has soil to remove..I think Mick could be the man as I found his charges very reasonable...anyway far better than what the builders offer you. You can call his # 0418462656 (Mick)

So things have progressed a fair bit for us now, bricks up, roof on, internal walls, doors etc all on. Have a few major issues however!! Not very pleased with Elderton at the moment, but hopefully that will pass . I must add that the site supervisor is a gem, he is willing to help at every turn, lets hope he is true to his word! Other than that Jordan Springs is looking great! A bit muddy but still nice all the same! Hope everyone else is moving along in their build! XXXXX Re: BUILDING IN JORDAN SPRINGS 133Mar 11, 2012 4:35 pm Hey all, Lots of things have happened over the weekend, some good, some great and some not so great! I was wondering if anyone has concerns with their brickwork, only I don't think the mortar looks even, maybe it's just me being picky, but it looks like the apprentices friends granny as built some sections!! happy days m X Re: BUILDING IN JORDAN SPRINGS 134Mar 13, 2012 8:19 pm HI TELMISH We are building with elderton not happy there are so many elderton homes with the same front next door and streets apart as it might devalue the house alittle they could of told us or mixed it up abit anyway im hoping apart from that and there slow at there paper work we dont have any problems. Im abit concerned with our bricks as we are going flush finish and it needs to be neat, we will be there watching every step of the way, its our home and we are paying them to do a job and we exspect a great job just like they exspect the get paid every little cent. so i wouldnt be worried about being pickey you have to live there way after there long gone! we have been watching your house progress from the street it looks great:-) Re: BUILDING IN JORDAN SPRINGS 135Mar 14, 2012 9:32 am Hi Friends, Has any one opted for CAT6 cables for their FTTH and if so, is the extra cost for CAT6 worth it. My standard connection would be CAT5e cables and was wondering whether to go for CAT6. Anyone having more info about CAT6 and its utility in the long run as its $45 more expensive per point than CAT5e...please share Re: BUILDING IN JORDAN SPRINGS 136Mar 14, 2012 9:39 am I paid for it - to upgrade later would be a big pain and there is a pretty big difference especially if you're streaming media from PC's etc. I'm a big IT nerd so I'm keen for it, depends on how serious you use the net and all that, now and in the future. Cat 5 can only support a 1 gigabit, while cat 6 can support up to 10 gigabite. Being a fibre internet connection I could see the cat 6 playing a pretty big role in my house. Keep in mind it's only as fast as your devices too, so your PC's network card etc need to be able to cope with 10gb connections and so on, if that helps also. We dont know whats going to be around in a few years. It was minimal cost. go upvc window frames ensure insulation under colorbond. not just sarking, lighter color roof also not sure if you have seen this viewtopic.php?t=5823 last couple of pages… 4 111232 Even if it's not being sub-divided and you want to keep it as Torrens title, you will still need to talk to a town planner or Council themselves, to see if they will allow… 1 11325 |
