I don't know why they bother sending us there it just causes more frustration. Good news that you have jumped over all the hurdles ... Fun isn't it? Can't wait to here more news about your plan, selections, etc. good luck with your build. Re: Dechellis Homes- own design 22Oct 31, 2011 10:36 am we had the same experience at laminex too, but we only went because we were so undecided on colours, so the only good thing was seeing a few examples and the larger doors in all the colours. hope you get a date soon Re: Dechellis Homes- own design 23Nov 28, 2011 9:50 am You must have a start date by now .... please let us know so we can follow your build!! Re: Dechellis Homes- own design 24Nov 28, 2011 3:57 pm Hi All, We started the build a week earlier than anticipated on 17/11. Great!!!! On the site scrape the contractor made a mess of our neighbors fence, pushing soil up against it, causing damage...not a good start but Dechellis are going to rectify this with new fence panels. We found a great chap for soil removal, we had various quotes ranging from $900 to $3,400 ( a small variation!!). The guy was great and threw in some rubble for the drive way, cannot complain. We are having the footings done tomorrow and have been told that the frame, bricks and roof will be done by xmas, great result. Regarding our selections, we have chose the following- Roof- Dune Gutters- Surf Mist Garage door- Surf mist Brick- PGH pistachio Windows- White Benchtops - Essastone new crystal salt 40mm in kitchen Cupboards- top- Laminex Crystal metallic tungsten and bottom charred oak Glass splash back- Metallic grey Main living areas floor- Bamboo, Bedroom floor- Carpet It is so good to actually see the change on our block. Re: Dechellis Homes- own design 25Nov 28, 2011 4:10 pm Oooh great news ... that means you might have some piccies for us soon!! We are looking at bamboo for our flooring. Are Dech. doing that for you? What sort of price range is it? Who is doing it? Good luck with it all Dingo, The selections was time consuming, having to go through several suppliers and then a final selection. I suppose it has both pros and cons- at least you get a good choice. The real negative for me was the lack of transparency with regards to pricing. I kept bugging them for prices before final selections so we had clear budgets before it. I think we paid about $80 m2 for bamboo but got as part of a package with carpet. Bought from city discount carpets and paid a bit more because we liked the brand and the way the bamboo had been grown, manufactured etc... Re: Dechellis Homes- own design 33Jan 02, 2012 11:25 am Hello AND... Happy New Year Thought I would post a quick overdue update. The frame, windows and roof are now up.
