Browse Forums Building A New House 1 May 12, 2011 9:48 am Hey all After several months of hunting around for the right house for a growing family, we ended up with Dennis Family Homes Hartley 341. Our block of land is in College Views, Bundoora. We have made only a couple of changes to the house. - extended the garage by 1m - added eves to the house - cavity doors to the games room - and asked for the slab to cure for 6 weeks. We had our colour appointment yesterday and after 2 hours we were happy with everything we had picked. It was a good thing that we spent the previous 4 weeks looking at their suppliers and making sure we had a good idea of what we wanted. stay tuned and we will post photos in the next couple of hours.. Oh yeah, our contract was promised within 12 weeks, we received it in 6 weeks with not a single mistake. Re: Hartley 341 - Dennis Family Homes (College Views, Bundoo 5May 12, 2011 12:46 pm EXTERIOR

Love the grubby face on Mum and Son. Some of your colours are the same as ours. Have you had a look at my kitchen with the madagascar and white cupboards. I think the pearl silver cupboards should look really nice. I look forward to seeing them. I like the white of the pale muchroom. It is a really warm white. We have taupe grey on our walls. We found DFH really good to work with. Good luck with it all. A balanced diet is chocolate in both hands. Thanks, little Erik is a superstar.. The mess on his face is his 1st birthday cake. Your house looks marvellous, kitchen looks awesome.. well at least I know the colours I picked will be nice I assume you have moved in, is there anything you wish you added to the house now that you are in? Re: Hartley 341 - Dennis Family Homes (College Views, Bundoo 12May 12, 2011 5:34 pm Mclaren Awww lovely pics!! Love your colour choices - I'm sure your wife wanted more than the red splash back Good luck with your build! Thanks, it looks like you are moments away from moving in. the house is looking very very nice. To be honest, the red splash back is all she wanted... Beside the bigger house, we were in a 16sq home before this now we are moving into a 34sq home, we are very excited. Fingers crossed for a late November 11 or a January 12 finish Little Erik needs his yard to run circles in.. Re: Hartley 341 - Dennis Family Homes (College Views, Bundoo 14May 13, 2011 12:17 pm deb17 Great color choices, and it's a good choice of area to live in. The red splashback will look great. thanks, we are looking forward to moving in, we have been living with the inlaws for a while now and certain people are starting to get on our nerves... not the parents. Re: Hartley 341 - Dennis Family Homes (College Views, Bundoo 15May 13, 2011 8:09 pm Love your plan! Love the walk in linen and the two WIR's. What is the little cutout in front of the toilet in the ensuite though? Just a decorative thing, or do you have plans for it? I love the sliding doors on the games room - our lounge room, family room and games room are all reasonably close to each other, and I am kicking myself that we didn't put doors on at least one of them to block it off a bit if someone was watching a movie or playing a loud computer game... really glad at least we have the cavity slider on the playroom to block the noise out for the kids once they have gone to bed! The only thing I would change on your plan would be the door from bed 2 into the bathroom - that said, I have three boy's and it would cause all kinds of arguments over who gets that bedroom and I would want to eliminate the fights! What colour are your bricks (or render)? Good luck with with your build!
