Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Our Bentley Sinatra, at Painting Stage 21May 16, 2011 8:55 pm Awesome Deb. 16 weeks from slab to handover is bonkers, I honestly don't know what I'd do if ours was built that fast (we still have a while on our lease!). I think mine's running a bit slower than yours though. I'm going to Japan for the last week of July, knowing my luck that will be when they want to book handover lol ! Those feature walls are beaut. Looking forward to seeing the tiles! I went by the display Sinatra the other week, reminded me what a lovely design it is. Though I was a bit alarmed at the cracks in the bricks on the right of the door on the display, have you seen those? Bit of a worry! They should probably get maintenance on that, not a good look for a display. Of course all their guys are probably too busy building our houses to worry about it Matt's Brando: viewtopic.php?f=31&t=46340 Started March 30th 2011 PCI July 15th Re: Our Bentley Sinatra, at Painting Stage 22May 16, 2011 9:08 pm DrMatt Awesome Deb. 16 weeks from slab to handover is bonkers, I honestly don't know what I'd do if ours was built that fast (we still have a while on our lease!). Of course all their guys are probably too busy building our houses to worry about it I havn't noticed the cracks, maybe i've done that, been in and out that door so many times. I think yours is running at about the same time as ours, but we had 3 brickies working on ours. I hope your back from Japan before handover, imagine that. Once they get inside and start doing all of the internal things, it will be better, the rain has been terrible. The outdoor tradies, leave the building sites as soon as it looks like rain . I don't blame them, I would love a job like that. Re: Our Bentley Sinatra, at Painting Stage 23May 19, 2011 7:02 pm The portaloo, went this morning. that's a good sign, moving in is getting closer, it's all happened so fast my head is spinning. The house is looking great, will get new photos as soon as I can. Re: Our Bentley Sinatra, at Painting Stage 24May 29, 2011 7:43 pm We have been given our PCI date, so excited. Driveway and carpet this week and then it's all done. Laid the slab on 23rd Feb and it's finished in just over 3 months. Our SS, has had something happening every day, he is very organised. The house is looking fantastic, just as we imagined it would. Can't wait to get the keys, should be in by the middle of June, the mud will be the killer . Re: Our Bentley Sinatra, at Painting Stage 25May 29, 2011 9:05 pm Fantastic, deb! You must be stoked to be packing so soon. You will save a bit in rent hey? When is your pc inspection date? Have you organized fencing and landscaping yet? I hope yours runs through without any issues. Sounds like it's going well though! We are hoping for PCI this Thusday, but not holding our breath at this stage as it is looking to be a whiles off. Still no Occupancy Cert (as far as we are aware), and still a list of things we have sent through to get resolved before we can even thinkmabout it. Still, fingers crossed Re: Our Bentley Sinatra, at Painting Stage 27May 29, 2011 10:04 pm msolok deb17 We have been given our PCI date, so excited. Still, fingers crossed I thought you must have been in, I hope everything goes well for you this week. I hope ours goes well, my DH is taking the day off, I have a check list longer than both our arms. I'm sure Brad will take pain killers before we get there, i'd hate to have his job, our friends DH is a SS for Carlisle Homes, he said some days are so bad Re: Our Bentley Sinatra, at Painting Stage 28Jun 01, 2011 8:23 pm deb17 Our painting is looking so good. Antique White throughout, 3 feature walls in Sheer Passion. Master, living and family. I like to keep all the features the same, our last home we did the same. Will do something different in DS's room. Tiles start Thursday, good on you Bentley, 11 weeks and look where we are. Our SS, is the best. I am beginning to wonder about the painters, had a look, and I think in some places, I could have done better blind folded. My DS used to be a painter i'll be taking him for our inspection next Wed. According to building regulations there should be no streaks, patchy spots ect.... the entry hall looks terrible. I expect the wall to be repainted all over. The other rooms need some paint touch ups, not to bad, but omi, I won't be moving in until that whole entry wall from the top of the house to the bottom is fixed. Some of these tradies need to have a refresher course. Re: Our Bentley Sinatra, at Painting Stage 29Jun 01, 2011 9:31 pm Good to hear your inspection is next Wednesday. So soon! Pity about the ******* paint but no doubt Brad will sort them out, repainting should be quick the hall should be quick. I wonder if they do a half assed job the first time because they expect to have to repaint anyway since halls get a lot of tradies going through before inspection? They're out puttying up mine this week. Wondering whether I'll like my colour selection once it's up! You always pick the things, colors that you love, so it will all look great when it's finished. I am just shocked that it even looks like that, I wouldn't have expected it, to be honest. We have re-painted our houses before and a 2 coat paint and ours was a much superior job, than our new passageway. I am relying on Bentley to rectify this, I just couldn't move in and look at that wall, no way. Re: Our Bentley Sinatra, at Painting Stage 31Jun 03, 2011 6:33 pm The painters will be in over the weekend to do the touch ups. I'm sure it will look great when we go on Wed. Moving along, PCI next week, 3.5months from slab down. Hopefully all goes well next week and we will soon be in, can't believe it. Re: Our Bentley Sinatra, at Painting Stage 32Jun 03, 2011 6:40 pm I can't believe it either deb. It's been pretty fast and smooth for you, and I'm hoping your PCI is the same and you can take the keys the following week. Are you taking an inspector or just roping in some family? You must be so excited with the big move just around the corner now! You must be so excited with the big move just around the corner now! We will take some family, my DS, has knowledge with painting, used to be a painter, now does air/heating. His Boss builds alot of homes and factories, sub contracts, then sells, my DS is in new homes every day so see's alot. He has looked at ours and he loves it, he is thinking of building with Bentley, went and got some plans last weekend, so he must be impressed, and he knows how happy we are. But will take him in, the more eyes the better. We shouldn't have to much to worry about, they seem to do a good job and if somethings wrong they fix it, can't complain. Brad has been very good. Re: Our Bentley Sinatra, at Painting Stage 34Jun 03, 2011 7:19 pm Yes I have been recommending them to anyone who will listen as well. I will be back tomorrow with the result. Re: Our Bentley Sinatra, at Painting Stage 36Jun 07, 2011 9:50 pm Best of luck! Don't forget your camera!! It's both lists AND a camera! both my Son and Daughter have one, I would love one, maybe I will get one when my phone is due to be updated. Honestly Matt, an Ipad wouldn't have enough list space for my lists. I can type very fast, so the lists just kept growing. Re: Our Bentley Sinatra, at Painting Stage 40Jun 12, 2011 11:34 am Our Bentley Sinatra is still at Paint Stage, the painters just don't show up to finish the job off. They turn up take the red dots off and then leave We were meant to have handover this week, but it won't be happening. Our Porch and Piers have not been painted, all the good sunny days they have wasted. Do these painters actually think you are stupid, they take the red dots off and then you go back to inspect and the same defects are staring straight at you. Under our eaves they have painted as far as their roller would reach and left the rest. Lucky we are able to move in with my DD, as we wont be moving in until they can finish the job. Not unless you have managed to put it as a special condition into the contract somehow. 1 4049 The fastest thing a builder will do is bank your cheque, those systems work perfectly with lightning speed, everything else is slow burn.
