Browse Forums Building A New House 1 May 06, 2011 11:18 pm I feel like I've scoured the websites of all the volume (and otherwise) builders that I can find in the world and still haven't found a plan that fits the one in my head We have a 180deg view out the back of our block (the boundary is an escarpment down to the river) so would love to utilise that with a large central area (kitchen, dining, lounge), I'd love to be able to see the view from the entry, garage close to kitchen, master with bedroom to get views too... We've tentatively decided on a builder but would prefer to go there with a plan that at least resembles what we want so there's not a multitiude of alterations to be made. We have an acre with a 45m width. Has anyone seen anything around or has done something similar we could have a look at? Help please! A few questions... What size are you looking at? How many bedrooms? Single or double storey? I leave you to fend for yourself, figure things out yourself. Terrence Malick Re: I have a view!! You could play around with the master bedroom configuration (put the robe and ensuite at the front) so that you get views out the back. http://www.metricon.com.au/queensland/h ... loor-plans I leave you to fend for yourself, figure things out yourself. That's pretty close! Some specifics would've been handy, sorry! - 4 bedrooms - open plan kitchen, dining, family - rumpus room - study (small) - media Perhaps I could just reconfigure the main bedroom a little and swap the kitchen and family room around somehow? What to build?! 5May 07, 2011 7:28 pm I love the metricon denver, I had planned on having that for the past 2 years until now, when we finally found a block that I love and I realised that it totally didn't work I don't have any better suggestions than that one, and I know totally what you mean by scouring sites and not finding something that suits, it's a total nightmare!! Good luck! Thank you so much everyone. This all makes a lot of sense. I guess when you talk to a builder who butters up everything to look very polished, you get to start believing… 7 17591 Thanks mate. Yeah good points! Leaning towards Option 3 to get a bit extra space in the cabinets but not going too crazy high (and expensive).
