It has been more than a week since I have been to have a look at the house. The SS called me today so I asked him what was happening there. HE told me that they have done all the plaster and the bricks have arrived. He asked me to go out this weekend to check the bricks as he thinks a few are the wrong colour and he is not sure the rest are the colour we wanted either. Re: just excited -Roof IS up! +more pics (Wednesday 13/07) 47Jul 24, 2011 9:17 pm It has been a very long almost two weeks since I visited our house. I found lots of progress, all the rooms look like rooms now! Any pic's you ask... Why of course. Bedroom 4 Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Looking straight through from the front door. (I am sure the Shower head should be in the middle) Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ The shower part is off to the left and the mixer is far off to the left. This shower is one of those hand held on a rail. We never realised how small the shower in the ensuite would be, woould it be to late to alter? Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Because the lounge has cavity sliders the light swich can't go just inside as you would expect, at the moment it is going to be inside close to the right corner (same wall as the sliders) Would the light switch be better outside the lounge? There is also the brick issue but I think I will start another thread for that. Re: just excited -lots of progress + more pics (Sunday 24/07 49Jul 26, 2011 10:31 am If you want to change the shower you should get onto your builder straight away. It will cost you but it will be so worth it - we have a tiny shower in our rental and my husband can't use it - he uses the main bathroom. Re: just excited -lots of progress + more pics (Sunday 24/07 50Jul 29, 2011 9:29 pm How big is the shower.. Plus the tap and mixer dont have to align because the rail of the shower head is offset from the outlet. Re: just excited -lots of progress + more pics (Sunday 24/07 51Jul 31, 2011 10:51 pm Hi Our shower was that size in our old house and it was fine. My hubby is 6'2" and I am 5'10" and we still both got in as well as 2 kids on the floor!!! Too much information? Still, I reveal myself for your peace of mind! I think it'll be fine! Re: just excited -lots of progress + more pics (Sunday 24/07 52Aug 07, 2011 3:14 pm Hi, We would have been too late to change the ensuite shower without it costing us a bomb so it stays as it is. Doesn't worry me that much - I am not really an ensuite kind of person anyway It has been a while since I last posted but it didn't seem there was much worth showing. The garage door was put on last week but I forgot to get a pic. BUUUUT this week there is loads to show!!! Bricks have started! Re: Scared and excited - our first build. 53Aug 08, 2011 10:27 am kiwi ps (so sorry, I feel like I am bossy britches) as the sight line from the front door is a wall..you must, MUST think about something unbelievable WOW, so that when you move in and everyone visits, it is there from day one. So start looking now where the arrow is Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ So I have been looking but have found nothing. Actually I did find an awesome red, silver and black painting but it was just a smidge to wide. The space is only about 700mm wide. Last night though I found a site that sells very cheap wall decals (I wonder who's link that was???) So I thought maybe these two put together might work. Please I need opinions. We will have red stools at our bench and a couple of red veatures around kitchen/dining/living areas so I thought the flower part black and red words or vice versa. What do you guys think? Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ Maybe it is wrong all together. Will the flower part look silly if it is not starting at the floor? Re: just excited -Kitchen is in :) + more pics (Sunday 07/08 54Aug 08, 2011 11:42 am for $5 (or whatever it was) dont put it up if it looks crap! put it in the loo. (just blu tak it up like I did first) GO FOR IT I would prob just do the flower as it is 700 wide. the words can go up if they look ok (you saw my lounge words..ha ha. still not sure about them!) the flower will be enough 'oh wow' on its own. wont be too over bearing....where as words and flowers...might be 'oh wow, what were you thinking when you ordered all this!" (and cheaper than a mirror and if it looks naff, put it somewhere else) if you are having curtains though, I would have them pulled back onto that wall so they dont block any window..so might not see said flower! Re: just excited -Kitchen is in :) + more pics (Sunday 07/08 56Aug 08, 2011 10:42 pm Thanks kiwi. I think I will just order the flower bit and leave the words. I hope they are not too hard to apply. Re: just excited -Kitchen is in :) + more pics (Sunday 07/08 57Aug 09, 2011 6:35 am no, just stick it on the wall by taking the WHITE backing paper off, and then a few hours (like 5) come back and pull off the white clear sticky plastic on the front and you will just have the flower left on the wall. if the flower starts to lift, just rub hard with a dry cloth (I used a sock as I found one on the floor) and keep pulling the clear plastic off... SLOWLY then boom...there it is no instructions come with it but on the website the instructions are below the pic...but kind of hard to follow. it will look great. good job Re: just excited -Kitchen is in :) + more pics (Sunday 07/08 58Sep 04, 2011 9:26 pm Hi, it has been a while We have our PCI on 16 September! That is just over 12 weeks since the slab went down, I can't believe how fast they have worked. Our driveway and pergola were done on friday. The painting was finished about a week ago and the tiler finished up on Thursday (he does have to come back sometime this week though to tile the front patio as he run out of tiles - no biggie) The only obvious things that I can see that need to be done is the carpet and there is a fair bit of dirt left over from the driveway. We just realised that we did not have removal of excess soil included in our contract, does anyone have any idea how much it will cost us to remove? I will try to upload some pics later and then add them.
