Browse Forums Building A New House Re: Knock Down and Custom Build - SA - Flushing and Painting 61Dec 16, 2011 2:35 pm Making a bit more progress now. Finally at lock up. Most of the second fix carpentry is done ( except for skirtings etc in all areas to be tiled). Bath went in Wednesday. In screed floor heating cables went into the bathrooms yesterday and the tilers are screeding today. I will post some photos tomorrow as I have a key to get in any time. My build thread : viewtopic.php?f=31&t=47031 Re: Knock Down and Custom Build - SA - Locked Up! 64Jan 13, 2012 11:12 pm We selected the tiles in June and had them delivered in December so the tilers could come back from the break and start getting stuck into the tiling. They started on Monday and found out that the tiling supplier stuffed up the quantity calculations and did not deliver enough tiles for the laundry / powder room. The tiler will not lay half the floor as the rest of the tiles will be from a different batch and may have colour variations. Then the tiling supplier says they have problems supplying the short supplied tiles! Hopefully they have tracked some down interstate. Why can't people do their jobs properly? Surely it is not that hard. Slab Down: 2/6/11 Moved in 13/3/2012 Current Status : Waiting for the garden to grow. I am looking into Solar ATM, even thought the FiT we'll get is 16cents, it still looks worth it in the long run. Who did you go with? looks to be about 5kW. We will try get that, maybe more if the budget allows. After more research, I now understand your data cabling set-up and will do very similar. Still yet to chat with the mob you used. What are you using for the multi-room audio, it seems you're having a stand alone system (but not Sonos etc) How are you going to control that? BTW, Wifey wants to know what colour you render is? Good luck with the Tilers Re: Knock Down and Custom Build - SA - Tiling Started! 67Jan 17, 2012 2:26 pm Yes the solar system is going well. 27 x 190w panels for a 5.13Kw system through Solar Wholeslers at Mt Barker ( sfter originally signing up and paying a deposit to Solar Shop but that is another story). For multi room audio am going to use a HTPC and CasaTunes. Having 12 zones and control everything via iPhone or ipod touch. The render colour is 1.5 strength Colorbond Evening Haze. Just been looking at CasaTunes website - looks like it might be what I'm after - thanks for that Bummer about Solar Shop - I was in at Zen today, nice gear, now thinking about Solar boosted HWS Re: Knock Down and Custom Build - SA - Tiling Started! 69Jan 18, 2012 7:50 am Yes all render is the same colour.
