Browse Forums Building A New House 1 Apr 25, 2011 11:29 am Can anyone let me know problems with recessing the aluminium tracks of stacker doors, into the slab so it doesnt protrude above the tile height, so no step up to get out? and secondly is there an issue with having the alfresco tiles then the same height as the inside tiles, so a smooth flow inside to outside? We specified this with our builder (and as everything they said 'no probs' in typical salesman fashion) with our plans stating 'track recessed into concrete'. But now the slab is down it looks like they are not meeting our expectaions, with the slab just showing a step down to the alfresco. It is a 5x7 two sided alfresco area facing northwest that seems to be reasonably sheltered. We plan to tile inside and out the same colour (polished in, rough out) and the stackers are 3.6 wide x 2.4. I would like the side pull flyscreens that roll out, and need to find out more about the tracks these use, and how the 'roll' is located. If you recess the door, then make sure they order one a little taller as you need the head to align with windows. Flyscreens... the tracked ones work best - our door takes those. The cassette type will be damaged by young children and pets in no time - and they tend to blow in with the wind. If part of the stacker extrusion will this be 3 panes of glass width + one fly screen track? ,or is it required to be 3 + 2 flyscreen tracks? They cover a wide area, and are quite weak and susceptible to damage IMO. The integrated flyscreen tracks stack the same as your stacker door, they use 2 extra tracks.
