Not too fancy - just a BBQ set, tongs and a cook book. I guess you are building prestige, so you might get something better? Some marinated meats perhaps, and a stubby or two? Now: Building another new home Settlement: 8 July 2021 Construction due to start: In two months Re: What Handover Prezzie did you get? 22Apr 23, 2011 7:13 am deb17 snoofie deb17 The previous house we built, we got a Hamper with Champagne, glasses, chocs, nice coffee mugs and the best thing ever, was the DVD they made for us, from day one of the build right through to the end, they had the best songs to go with it, we loved it so much, I cried, I still do when I watch it. I'm hoping we get something good of Bentley as well, I have heard they give a gift. But nothing could ever beat the DVD, it's amazing watching every step to music. Now that is a very clever move by the builder - one you will always cherish - well done to your builder!!! They were the best, Italian family, the Dad, Mum, two Sons and Daughter. The Dad was a perfectionist, and they all worked to his standards. The house was built in 13 weeks, 27 squares. They worked long days and every weekend, we could not find one fault at all, the whole time we lived in the home we never found a thing that needed maintenance. The building site was spotless, it was cleaned every day before they went home. Lovely people, we will never forget the great job they did for us and the pride they took in building our home. That's so lovely - I think that's lacking in alot of the building now, a sense of pride in workmanship and a genuine desire to do a great job. Shame really, if more builders actually based their "core business principles" on Customer Satisfaction and Pride I think there would be a much higher respect that the Customer has for the whole building practice. Re: What Handover Prezzie did you get? 23Apr 23, 2011 7:16 am ring09 We got a great hamper, with a wooden chopping block, chocolates, biscuits, jams, mugs, beer holder thingies, coffee, tea, quince paste, tea towels and other things I have forgotton all wrapped up really prettily. I was unexpected and a really nice gift. I think Deb17 dvd would have been lovely. I reckon that's the best gift - a hamper filled with things you forget...! Definately tea towels and bum wrap (or bog roll as mentioned earlier LOL) is a must!!! No the fireplace doesn’t work. It’s been enclosed. I’m not sure what was removed, as it was done quite some time ago - well before what I can see with photos online… 2 11569 Depends how much direct sun it gets. Is there any shading (eaves or trees)? If the sun hits a window directly it doesn't matter too much if it's double or single… 1 12647 9 24757 |
