I hope you can extend for a week, it would be a whole lot better for your stress levels. Fingers crossed they go like the clappers to get it all done Build Thread: https://forum.homeone.com.au/viewtopic.php?f=31&t=43846 Re: Gogo's build-still no final inspection.. 3442Jul 31, 2012 8:53 pm scgia1 Gogo really hope they get it done I'm not moving in until everything is completed I mean everything Yeah well when they told us one week, four weeks ago, we thought we covered our butts, I'm with you SC, my plan was to have everything completed. willcres Mmm, looks like a full 2 weeks job, gogo....not good....Sorry, doesn't want to discourage you , but I think you better prepare to extend 1-2 weeks of your rental. It's annoyin, I know, but to be honest, that's a lot to do in a few days.... Willcres, I don't think it is two weeks work, but it is more than two days work will call agent tomorrow Re: Gogo's build-still no final inspection.. 3443Jul 31, 2012 8:55 pm I'd get on the phone in the morning to furniture and appliance companies. I hope you can extend for a week, it would be a whole lot better for your stress levels. Fingers crossed they go like the clappers to get it all done Certainly nothing boring about this build In a sense Nina, I wish they just said another month instead of these unrealistic time frames, God knows I don't need the stress at the moment going to see if we can extend lease another fortnight, problem is we both have annual leave booked, which I can't cancel, so I won't have time off when we move Re: Gogo's build-still no final inspection.. 3446Jul 31, 2012 9:00 pm Oh how annoying re your annual leave. Hope you get some good news tomorrow and a million and one trades on site. I'm sure you can delay some deliveries at least!! I only booked the removalist today and paid a deposit deliveries I may have a little more luck. scgia1 All of us are so close yet spooking far it's all the 1% ers that take the time has the house been cleaned? Yep Matt keeps saying there's not much to do, but it still doesn't get done, this has been going on for two -three weeks. No house has not been cleaned, I vacuumed on Sunday, to get rid of some dirt, as tradies were taking off their boots at the door but then walking over the filthy floor onto the carpet. DD, went to house yesterday and took a photo of muddy footprints up the stairs, by the time I had got there the stairs had been vacuumed. Do you have your carpet yet SC? Re: Gogo's build-still no final inspection.. 3448Jul 31, 2012 9:04 pm In good news, our driveway was poured today, Really nice guy, extremely reliable, highly recommended. Just plain concrete poured today and the tiles and pebblecrete will be done in a month or so Re: Gogo's build-still no final inspection.. 3450Jul 31, 2012 9:13 pm I'm still fuming about carpet going in, so far I have photos of filthy tools all over it, mud on the stairs, timber sawdust and shavings in front room. I just kept asking for it to go down after final inspection but Matt insisted we were only a few days away. Ridiculous!!!! Re: Gogo's build-still no final inspection.. 3451Jul 31, 2012 9:54 pm gogo65 Yeah DH, discussed that option that some money will be held back until OC supplied, What was the response to this? Hopefully they pull their fingers out and get things done. Can I ask a question - do you have a picture of the join that is in your island bench? My island is 3.3m and the longest piece of stone is 3m. The stone mason that we use at work has suggested that I shorten it to 3m so that I don't have a join and I am confused. This week should be exciting, not such a stress. That list is very comprehensive, I hope they get their butts in gear, and attend it all. I'm with you, I don't want to move in until ours is all done, and yep stupid builder ******. Telling you it could be done then not following through is just unfair. Cuddles hon, hope you get some good news today x Re: Gogo's build-still no final inspection.. 3456Aug 01, 2012 12:11 pm Oh Gogo, I don't blame you for losing the plot. Why don't builders give a realistic and honest timeframes? By telling you all would be done by this week, they set up customer expectation that it will be done and the customer plans accordingly. But honestly with all those items still be completed, they were a little unrealistic telling you all would be done in time. They should have given themselves another week, then you could have organised things for a week later. Anyway, they may pull a rabbit out of a hat and get everthing done this week. I hope all your plans can be rescheduled as much as possible if the inevitable occurs and they have not got everything finished. Jen, I have a close up of the join, I'm not particularly happy with it as it appears a small part is dirty, not sure if it is the cement or whether it needs a good clean, but I think I am being picky Like ⋅ Add a comment ⋅ Pin to Ideaboard ⋅ greenfish Oh Gogo I feel terrible for you. Sending good wished your way for handover on time Thanks onewheel, Very unrealistic time frames, i agree, they just need to be realistic. So DH, met the builder and the new SS(who seems to be fantastic, a major asset to zen) a plan was drawn up and discussed, so we are now planning on getting keys on Friday after walkthrough on Friday at 3pm, as long as everything is ok, the painter already knows about touch up's etc, so they will do everything tomorrow. My front porch has had a coat of paint and looks amazing, loving the colour, the staircase is stained but still needs the clear coat but looks the painters are fantastic and so proud of their work, they will be back tomorrow to finish off. So at this stage we are getting keys on Friday at 3pm not sure if the stress is worth it, but hoping they can pull a rabbit out of a hat.no photos today to show as just a quick visit and then off to the hospital ! Thanks for everyone's wonderful support that you have given me Re: Gogo's build-still no final inspection.. 3458Aug 01, 2012 5:36 pm two sleeps to go!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! I am sure it will go fine.
